Look at how many people got confused by Michael Keaton playing a Batman variant in the Flash, assuming that made Tim Burton's Batman films canon to that universe... Heck look how many people thought that Madame Web was part of the MCU including the lead actress... Gunn is shooting his own universe in the foot.

While I enjoyed the movie, I wouldn’t mind some adjustments to make it closer to the comic. Like letting Jaime live in El Paso, Texas. Or working his friends into the story. I’m kinda iffy on how the movie aged him up, but Xolo is perfect casting, so I can understand the decision.

It works because there was no Connection to the DCEU with that movie. It was a complete standalone movie that didn’t reference Henry Cavill Superman, or Ben Affleck’s Batman

@@monicadelgado5296 GotG is great. GotG2 is a mess of a film. SS was OK but not amazing. GotG3 was likewise decent but the weakest MCU film of the year it came out. So not a great track record 🤷‍♂️
