Very late response. But my freshman year I played on a horn mouthpiece with an adapter. I then this year as a sophomore moved onto a mello/trumpet mouthpiece. I found it easier on my high range and helped my endurance. Just takes a little practice to get used to. Very glad I made the switch.

Flipperzz My horn sergeant from an open class corps I was in plays primarily bassoon but she marched baritone in Boston Crusaders in '16 and Colts in '17. So it's possible. Some trumpet players I know i know in drum corps play sax or other instruments too. But what I see with some woodwind players in school marching bands is that they tend to drag down their right shoulder and it just looks very bad. Some trumpet player in the open class corps had that going on with his marching technique. Just looks bad. So if you're going to try for euph some day, just make sure you sound and look good lol
