Blue Dyes & Hydrogen Peroxide Reactions for Spectrophotometery

Using household materials plus a smartphone and color app (colorimeter or Spec-20) to determine the order of reaction for FD&C Blue 1 dye reacting with hydrogen peroxide in basic solution. Which blue dye used matters in order to avoid inconclusive results from other dyes or substances added to the blue dye.

My guess is the third has yellow dye and didnt list it because blue and yellow make green. But i sure hope not because id hope companies list everything

That was my thought also, but if there wasn’t yellow dye in the blue there must be another substance in the blue dye bottle changed the color somehow.

@AnneSchmidt Is that even legal? This has me questioning if the ingredients lists are disclosing everything in everything I buy. Plus the brand was generic Walmart. Thats a huge company. I'd hope they'd have their "poop" together.
