I like how instead of diving straight to Mizu's and Taigen's duel they show them running calculations in their heads that show either defeat or mutual death, which incredibly accurate to real duels of old, it was actually pretty common (And documented) for both opponents to injure each other at the same time and/or kill each other in an instant, it also shows the audience the seriousness of this fight, that this is THE DUEL and I love it, the build up and anticipation pays up SO WELL

I've only seen the first episode. But I find it funny the one guy who survived helped Mizu.

The moment she rips the teeth from the opponent's head. The baton is spinning in the air from her right hand, she then catches it in her left and follows through the hip pivot. Perfection that can rarely be caught in real life.

This is one of the best anime series I've ever seen.

The music score for the cliff fight scene is amazing. They cut most of it so that they could only includ the fight scene. But watching it live in the episode with that music gave me goosebumps

This is a classic case of shooting yourself in the foot. The writers were so engrossed on how to portray this bint as a kick azz swordsman that she needed no man to teach her how to use a katana which means anyone can be a super samurai warrior by swinging a wooden sword in front of an oven for 6 to 7 yrs. I was so obsessed with the pacing and dynamics of BES fights scenes, they’re just so satisfying and beautifully done to watch

The only part of this series I didn't like was as the story got going was how impossibly quickly she recovered from multiple serious stab and slashing wounds that all happened in I presume a short span of time to a physical place where she was able to out fight just as strong or multiple people at such a high level. It felt like she had impossible plot armor so I ended up skipping the last episode because it was just to unbelievable.

I hated the end to the first fight where the sword skates across the edge of the blade... that feels like with the sparks it would mean the blade is dulled. I want to like this show.

Why have it animated? Aside from the gore, every other fight scene was achievable by using actors and props (so cheaper). Dunno, with animation you expect something fast and coherent, like Sword of a stranger or something and not a wuxia flick
