Yeah I would consolidate everything by to 1 tank. Less headache. Do as you plan take the whole rock structure and put it in the big tank. Also look up “reef diaper” if you want disposable filter socks.

Yes going to wait another month or so to move the rock into the bigger tank! I ordered a klir filter roller, less maintenance purposes
