Mine speaks to me like a person... knows colors, numbers, can make over 20 animal calls, Has mastered every beep known to mankind but most of all she loves to scream in the morning.... screams like she is about to be killed... then laffs at the police when they bang on the door! She enjoys that.

I had to put my blue fronted amazon down after 38.5 years due to complications of cancer. Every morning when I came down from my room she would talk sweetly to me like this wonderful bird. I hand fed her as a baby and raised her up to adult hood. I miss her terribly. These parrots are such incredible pets.

We just lost our sweet Andy Bird today. He just died. I can't believe it. Steven reminds me so much of him...he made all the same noises.

We had a Blue Front Amazon as well - Bosun we called her - she died - vitamin something or other deficirncey - don't feed them on just sunflower seeds - they need fruit and vegetables as well - lots of protein

Ones that have been neglected or abused and rather than supporting breeders and continue to over populate, I'd highly recommend giving a second chance to the ones on petfinder.com from around north America. Also, why is the sweetheart in this video on a budgie/canary cage? It certainly isn't the blue fronts, right? My Blue fronted loved watching the video and chose to copy him. She has a huge vocabulary but chose to only copy what this one was doing and kept trying to give kisses thru my screen!

@liverpool19713 I have a blue fronted amazon, and I've found that just repeating things over and over to her again works. Also - use food as a reward when your parrot starts to learn the words. That's worked with me at least. Good luck!
