BLUE LAGOON Island - Nassau - Disney Dream Cruise

We are at our first port on the Disney Dream in Nassau! And these girls have never seen the beautiful water of the Bahamas, so we are headed to Blue Lagoon Island. This is a 25 minute ferry ride from Nassau but it is beautiful along the way! We were afraid the island would be too crowded but we were wrong. Everyone spreads out and there is plenty of room. We even got lounge chairs in the shade! The beach is very enjoyable as it is smooth sand and the water is shallow. It was quite chilly in March, but it's ok once you are in for a few minutes.
After we get back to Nassau, the girls want to do a bit of shopping and had braids put in there hair. All this and we made it back on to the ship just in time.
Tonight is the best dining room on any Disney cruise ship, Animator's Palate! This comes to life around you. It is interactive and Crush, from Finding Nemo, was telling us stories, asking us questions, and even had the entire restaurant doing the wave as he swam from one screen to the next!
Tomorrow is Castaway Cay!

The Blue Lagoon was beautiful! You looked very relaxed in your lounge chair under the palm tree. I was in awe how clear the water was. Looks like the girls are really enjoying theirselves. Loved their braids!

Loved your video today. You had a busy day. The blue lagoon was gorgeous. Amazing how clear the water is! The girls really seemed to love their braided hair and were so sweet showing what they had purchased at the straw market. I agree with Emily that the salmon looked like cat food. 🙀 You are doing a great job doing the filming without Jason.👍 Looking forward to your day at Coco Cay! 🙂

Wow so much has changed at the port in Nassau, it’s been about 2 years since we were last there. We will be on the Wish in June doing Blue Lagoon as well. Great DCL Vlog, can’t wait to see Castaway Cay!

Great video. Nassau has not been my favorite port...but I may need to rethink it. :) The Blue Lagoon looks amazing and the water was sure pristine during your visit. I remember when I went to Nassau going by people that would braid your hair I thought my hair was too short to have braids I was bummed while in Nassau we took the City tour so nice

Thank you. This is so interesting. I'll be in Nassau 7 times out of my 10 booked cruises. I'm bored of Nassau and I don't like the walk from and to the ship. I have been at Blue Lagoon, Pearl Island, and Paradise Island. Waiting for RC water park to open up and go down in price to do something new in Nassau. In the meantime, I'm staying on the ship at that port.

We went there a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it was Easter week and it was PACKED! I would definitely go back, just on a different week. It was a beautiful little island.

Was so looking forward to going there in Feb. We went last Oct and it’s the best thing to do in Nassau. But…they aren’t offering it now, because of the tender sinking. So sad this happened to them. I hope they are able to recover.

Were there any rocks in the water? When we went back in March we swam in the beach area behind where you eat and it was full of big rocks. And water shoes were a must on that side!

Do you mind saying how you booked the Blue Lagoon, how much it was, how long you stayed and if you think it was worth the cost - Thanks!! (I'm looking to go while on a Carnival cruise in July with grandkids!)

Blue Lagoon could only be booked through the cruise line. I didn’t see it offered anywhere else. I think we paid $85 each.

the description says a 15 min walk to the ferry boat, would you say it was about that or shorter?

It depends where your ship docks as there are several slips. If you are in the further points then it will take about 15 minutes.
