This video does not belong to me, it was on the VFX designer's Vimeo which seems to have been deleted and I'm just reuploading it since many Blue Man Group fans miss this scene.
This scene was in the first version of the Monte Carlo/Park MGM show and was changed in late 2014 to what is pretty much the Orlando version of the show but with creature feature. Seeing this scene was my first memory of watching them. I hope in 2025 they move to a bigger venue and bring this back to the Vegas show.

For anyone who wants to know what the narrator is saying during this segment, here's a rough transcript of it: "As advanced as our modern technology has become, it doesn't even come close to matching the incredible sophistication of... Modern Plumbing. Sorry. I meant to say... the human brain. That was an example of the cognitive phenomenon known as... brain flatulence. The human brain is a truly remarkable organ, one that is easy to place on a pedestal because of all it has accomplished. It is responsible for creating all of civilization, including our greatest cultural achievements." "The brain gets much of its thinking power from a class of electrically excitable nerve cells known as... neurons. Our brains have over one hundred billion of them, but they don't work alone; they're team players. What makes neurons so powerful is their ability to connect with other neurons. These connections form a massive web of electrochemical pathways that is the whole of the cognitive phenomenon that scientists call... the hellawhack shiznit that happens inside your brizzle." "If you could somehow step inside a neural network and take a look at this process from up close, you'd see how even a single neuron firing can influence thousands of others in an instant. But you'd also realize very quickly that hanging out inside a neural network is probably not a very good idea." "When neurons connect, their terminal endings get close to each other, but they don't actually touch. They're separated by a four-nanometer expanse called... a synapse. To understand how synapses work, we'll need to pull one apart. No, that's too far. Let's bring it back in a bit so we can see how neurotransmitters manage to meet across this expanse." "Neurons don't just fire randomly; they must be triggered by an impulse that is strong enough to overcome the... stimulus threshold. This protects the brain from responding to weak or insignificant signals. Only very powerful impulses make it over this threshold, and this keeps our brains from being distracted by forms of stimuli that are either unimportant, trivial or just downright wimpy. To win at this game, a stimulus must really pack a wallop. But when an impulse does make it over this threshold, it sets in motion a chain reaction of neural activity that can reach across the entire expanse of the brain." "Neurons aren't the only things that can communicate without any actual contact. This is increasingly true of how our brains communicate with other brains. Humans can now easily communicate with thousands of others without ever having to come into contact with any of them. This ever-widening social synapse is one of the greatest contributions to the contemporary lifestyles since... walls."

I hope in 2025 the Vegas show moves to a bigger home, and maybe they can finally take out the ceiling neuron and balls from the warehouse or even the giant curved pvc instrument that was at Monte Carlo.

I had no idea this is what this even sounded like, just what it looked like from trailers. I completely just missed this version of the show entirely. I guess I was a little too late seeing this in December, 2014. Just hope this version of the show return at some point in the future...

Yeah, I miss when the shows were educational. I'm pretty certain I remember seeing them also do rods and cones in this show so it's apparently not in the r&c series. The show was changed to improve flow but I don't really see it.

Woah! I never got to see this since there is basically no footage of this show on the internet! Was there any other footage of this show on that VFX designer's Vimeo? The other scenes I'm curious about was that section where they made that smiley face painting and that whack-a-mole mambler scene.

Why? I think these guys are fantastic, so do millions of other people. The acts they think up are unreal. You just don’t understand talent. And these men are loaded to the max.
