how to apply blue tack onto model to creat camouflage pattern
i build a airfix hurricane starter set and show how to use a cheap £1 cheat to get camo onto the aircraft easily

Blu tack camo method is great for beginners, you get great results,nice build.

@@yorkshiremanmodelstried this on my hurricane earlier today before i left for work....will be home in about an hour and will remove the bluetack and let you know how i got on......paint should be dry by now (humbrol Acrylic).

Great looking Hurricane once again and I am going to use this blu tack method on a SU 30 SM kit I have by Zvezda for the camo markings 👍

@@yorkshiremanmodels Yes Russian aircraft are beautiful to gaze upon and the kits tooling looks great I have just started to dry fit everything to see how the fit goes together and no problems so far

I recon painting it all brown then doing ur green would be so much easier and faster no double masking maybe I’m wrong though

it is and i usually do it that way but the starter kit paints didnt have a lot of paint in them so to make sure i had enough i used the double mask method

i always seal the paint work with a gloss varnish

Lovely little build. That air brush sounded very powerful, what air pressure you using?

run it at around 18 psi dependent on paint but its under the desk so makes more noise because of that

Yes or I also add a bit of sponge in if it's a big one is 1/48 scale

Where did you get the brush pens? Also what PSI do you normally spray at

i got the brush pens from amazon think it was around £5 for 3 but i have had them a while normally spraying around 18 to 20 psi but dependent on how thin the paint is i can end up going lower also for fine detail i sometimes drop it to around 12 psi

depends on the paint in all honesty some paints ie mr hobby and tamiya i will often remove it after about a hour but others i have to leave overnight and thats usually humbrol or valleyo

Why do you consider the tube cement rubbish?

the nozzle is way too large for applying and you can end up with way too much on the model the drying time is slow as well which in most cases slows down build time but does help when building tracks with individual links

@@yorkshiremanmodels i find it good for using for small parts and when you neef a bit of wiggle time as you say with link and length tracks . Its also good for using to add to filler to thin it out about to get it to be more like sprue goo. Its all we had back in the 60's and 70's when i started. Never use it straight from tube, i always put some down on a strip of masking tape and use a cocktail stick or a fine screwdriver to apply it to parts. Like everyone else i use the thin stuff but it's not good for every thing.
