The Blueair Classic 280i stopsmoke air purifier review, also the classic 203 and air purifier. This is the smallest stopsmoke air purifier in the Blueair range and offers a good tradeoff between size, noise, CADR and filtering ability. I give you my thoughts. Is this the best mid-range domestic air purifier?

Thank you for including the wattage on the front page, the only spec I really care about. They always hide it because they don’t what you to know how weak most of these filters are.

Thank you, such a great review. I like how you mention “closed room” and rated for “full Speed”. The new Blueair healthprotect 7770i auto mode is amazing, the auto mode is not only switching between 3 steps (The noise of third step could be annoying) but a lot more mini steps making the speed changes gradually smooth and natural.

I would have liked some comments on build quality, ie pointing out how much is metal vs plastic, plastics off gassing is an issue too for some people & that would be helpful to include. Also is it supplied with a uk plug? I just bought another Swiss brand & can't use it till I get an adapter.. Interesting info re the formaldehyde as that's in everything these days, thank you.

Hi there. Could you please tell me what would you choose between PureMate PM 510, pro breeze 5 in 1 and Levoit Vista 200/ LV-H132 ? And why? (I need it mostly to remove dust, cooking smell and mold for an open space kitchen/living room).Thank you.

said to be ozone neutral, it catches more ozone than it creates.

Is there a version of the App that can be used for a laptop? Also I have severe MCS, is it safe to run the purifier without the filter installed to see if the main unit off gasses plastic odours etc. That way I wouldn't have to break the seal of the filter and get a full refund if it's unsuitable for me.

It's not dangerous, you are basically just running a fan at that point.

@@alanrossreviews Thanks for that. Have you any knowledge of laptop S/W as I can't use smart phones because of my chronic illness? Just how limited would I be without the app? I'd be quite happy with a 203 or classic 205 if they had the auto regulator and change filter indicator.

Great review. Is the 280i good for getting rid of cigarette smoke? I live in a flat and the flat below has been bought by a heavy smoker. It's an old building. I've never had a puff of a cigarette in my life and I'm worried!

Yes as long as you get the stopsmoke filter version with it.

According to the manual: 280i/290i models have built-in sensors for PM2.5, VOC, temperature/humidity.

Blueair is overpriced and their products are out of date. They most certainly aren't a "leading brand" especially when you consider that they haven't made a new product in ages.

I would have to disagree on every point. This is a review from the UK so not sure what part of the world you are. Who are the leading brands in your view and by what definition?
