If you're really interested in hunting this thing there's a method of corrupting your game's save data that I'm currently using to hunt the wishmkr jirachi. I don't know for sure but I assume it'll also work for this. It's not rng manipulation or anything so it's still 1/8192 odds, but it cuts the reset time down to roughly 1 minute. The only problem is if you mess it up you run the risk of not being able to hunt jirachi on the save file anymore or just straight up deleting your save file, but if you have a way to back up/restore your save it shouldn't be an issue. There's a tutorial on how to do the save corruption by the domiNATION. (I would also recommend checking the comments on that video as there's a few ways to cut down the reset time that he doesn't cover)
@ModestNeko
@ModestNeko 2 жыл бұрын
@@kevincross709 I saw that video actually. I knew the risk of it deleting the save file but not being able to hunt it on it? Like, you delete the save file and it's fine on a new save on the same cartriage right? Apparently the odds are actually like 1 in 7,000 something. I did like 10 game resets for it before taking a break for now lol. That was before I saw the corruption method. Thank God for that as I keep getting destroyed by my rival from RNG *cries*
@kevincross709
@kevincross709 2 жыл бұрын
@@ModestNeko When I said you can't hunt it on the save file anymore I was talking about corrupting the data but the you still having the jirachi, so if that happens yes, your cartridge if fine you just have to reset the save. Also I think I've heard about the ~1/7000 odds. I'm not sure if that's true but even if it is I'm almost certain it's just a quirk of the colosseum bonus disc and doesn't have anything to do with the save corruption.

@@mikey4505 In short, computers are not truly random, as all they can do is follow the coding. Randomness is generated by numbers like date and time, button inputs etc. So one can manipulate the outcome to whatever you like if you know what 'random' numbers will be generated. This makes it possible to reset for perfect Pokémon without involving cheating devices.

Is someone got the BDSP Shiny Manaphy yet?
@spearmintlatios9047
@spearmintlatios9047 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikey4505 “I’m a blisey” makes pretty good videos on the subject matter, he shows how to do it step by step for any particular game or situation. Gen 4 or 5 is definitely the easiest to work with, or gen 3 with a dead battery. I could talk about this for ages though, so word dump: The process is generally like: find a way to manipulate the seed generated each time you play (like a Minecraft world’s seed) that determines the “course” of randomness, then find out how to “advance” the game’s randomness until it gets to the point where a shiny is generated, then initiate the encounter. This is usually done by starting the game at a very specific interval after adjusting the consoles clock, and then performing activities within the game such as scrolling through your Pokémon, making phone calls, or waiting, which will advance the rng. This works because of the general structure of pseudo rng In the games (which varies from game to game). But basically the game will cycle through a wheel of 2^32 “Pokémon ID” which determine the stats, gender and nature (and Pokémon you’re encountering in tall grass), and the seed will place you at a particular point on this wheel that is closer to the shiny. The game will churn forward on the wheel through random activities that “advance” the rng. This usually creates an entirely random outcome, especially because the player isn’t supposed to have knowledge of what seed they start on, how many “steps” forward they are, and how that correlates to shinies, but we do through external tools. It’s important to note that In order to know when shiny Pokémon are generated, it uses the “Pokémon ID” in tandem with your trainer ID. To get shinies, you need to know your trainer and secret ID’s, which can also be manipulated to get “perfect” shiny Pokémon. Surprisingly, this is all pretty easy with the tools that dedicated nerds have made which have reverse engineered everything. the process is as simple as searching for when a shiny occurs and then picking one of hundreds displayed. then you are given all of the information you need to execute to get to that seed and point in the cycle. For games like channel though, it is a little more confusing. This RNG has less documentation and you would have to ask people on forums or discord if KZfaq doesn’t have anything helpful.

It just occurred to me that diglett has a canon weight, so someone MUST have managed to put a diglett on a scale at some point, without the ground around it skewing the results. That means that at least one person has had the opportunity to see diglett's feet. It has to at least be possible. I mean, unless people went around making up random nonsense and adding it to the pokedex without any verification whatsoever. But it's not like we have countless pokedex entries spouting complete nonsense that could bring this into question. Right? XP

Aerial Ace is one of those 'lost in translation' things. The move name in Japanese is "Swallow Return" and is based on folklore of a legendary swordsman, Sasaki Kojirō, who had a technique called the "Swallow Cut." The move never actually requires flying, but reputedly resembles a swallow's tail in flight, so that's probably why it got the Flying-type designation.

Maybe legendary/mythic pokemon are designed before their chosen to be event mythic pokemon. So for example, they initially designed Jirachi like any other pokemon, like a evolution of Chimco that can be obtained in the wild and it would come with a star piece. But late in development they realized it's their most charismatic well designed cute pokemon that can work as a legendary.

That would almost make sense if it had a Star Piece in R/S/E, but not so much for HG/SS, by which time it's mythical status was well defined. -And given that Jirachi has identical base stats to Mew and Celebi, the previous generations' mythical Pokémon, it seems likely that they knew exactly what they were planning to do with it when they designed it.-

For wishmaker jirachi, you can actually corrupt your save data at a specific point in a new save file and be able to simply load a prior save due to the corruption from before obtaining the jirachi. this is an oversimplification of how it works, but I imagine that something similar could be thought out for pokemon channel jirachi. that would make hunting it much easier.

To explain further: The anime is not real, in the literal sense. It's based off of Ash/Red's journey. In RBY, you are playing the events of Ash's journey that the anime bases how the story went. In GSC, you are playing as a new person who theoretically is keeping up with the anime and Ash, because you run into Red at the end of the game. We know that the game starts off with your rival as "???", so if that were the case that your character didn't recognize Red from the anime, when you battle him he would also be ???. So the anime is not literally real, it's a rendition of the events that Ash went through.

I do have everything needed to get that Jirachi... I think there's technically also an exploit that allows you to reset so that the game forgets that you ever got the Jirachi, making it as if you didn't save, but it's very risky and can result in a lost save file if done incorrectly so like... yeah. That's also how people typically hunt for the Wishmaker Jirachi that comes with the Colosseum bonus disc, however that one doesn't require you to beat the league, you can just get it whenever, as soon as you have the Pokédex, so if you lose your save file while hunting for that one, it'll only set you back a couple minutes, and not like 4 hours.

Another great video! One thing I wanted to mention about diglett with it only being on the ground. Funny enough for a while in Pokemon GO when you evolved diglett into dugtrio, it would rise into the air like every other pokemon and you can see the flat bottom part of ground. However this got fixed I think kinda recently so now when you evolve diglett in GO, it is the only Pokemon to remain on the ground. Also for the Pokemon Channel Jirachi, similar to the Colosseum Bonus Disc Jirachi, you might not have to play through the entire ruby and sapphire game each time to get an encounter with it. There is a way you can corrupt your save file to load up the backup save for your ruby or sapphire game and you can load the backup save before you received the jirachi in game. However this is a chance this just deletes your save file or the backup save is simply after you received jirachi so Idk if going for that would be worth it either way 😂

I'd like to add to the Diglett trivia: In Gens 1 and 3, it can learn Mimic, and if you transfer it to a Gen 8 game (possibly 6 and 7 too), if you have it mimic a move that requires the user to go up into the air, like Flying Press, Sunsteel Strike, etc., the Diglett will ascend in the move's animation, but not without a huge chunk of the ground that serves no purpose other than to conceal what's beneath it.

Listen man I don't appreciate you both spelling my name wrong while using my footage of the RNG Manip I did while acting like what I did, which was research and translation for a retail RNG Manip for this Jirachi, doesn't exist. I get it, you think that RNG Manip doesn't count as legit or w/e. That's fine, but acting like it doesn't exist while using my shit isn't cool. It is just a different niche subset Pokemon Hobby and is a cool way to experience the series. Anyone can get this Jirachi really easy without any hacks or emulators, just like I did. I've gotten at least 2 shinies and 1 5 IV.

That’s my fault man, I really didn’t mean for it to come across that way. I think what you do is super rad and I’ve even thought about reaching out to you to collaborate on something sometime, since I know you have tons of experience with this stuff. I didn’t mean to make it seem like I was shitting on RNG manip, i just honestly have 0 knowledge about it. I was purely making the video from my perspective as a shiny hunter and what I know, and didn’t feel knowledgeable enough of the subject To go into detail about it. That was wrong though. I’ll put your channel link in the description, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter if this doesn’t feel right to you still. Sorry about that man. Really wasn’t my intention

The Mewtwo I caught in Yellow way back when was turned out to be shiny, because it had the exact DV stats needed for it. Of course I only found it out when I traded it to Crystal. Fortunately I've transferred it to my copy of Pokémon Stadium 2, so it's safe (it uses flash memory to save instead of a battery, so I can't lose it to a dry battery).

3:40 I can see them wanting to show the architecture of the 3D building, and justifying cropping the top off because in real life trees are often cut like so so you can see they the windows, or show off some the architecture/shrine/temple/home/etc.

Diglet canonically has feet due to a gag in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon when you save a diglet and have to fly it over a chasm. The screen just fades to black but diglet talks about how it felt so weird to have it’s feet dangling in the air.
