Had the pleasure to visit Sudbury almost 25 years ago with our junior team. The trip is still something that I think from time to time. The hospitality we received was something that I was not used to. Thanks Sudbury for awesome trip!

My favorite Ranger growing up was Eddie Giacomin I just loved the guy and was lucky to have met Eddie and all the Rangers as a kid because my late cousin Richie worked for Mr Francis and Ferguson from 1965 to 1978. Eddie was such a class act and is Janis Foligno's Uncle. Anytime I hear or read Sudbury I immediately think Eddie Giacomin. John Ferguson in his book Thunder and Lightning wrote about my cousin on 5 pages calling Richie his Best NY Pal. One time I called my late Aunt Minnie asking if Richie was there and she said Richie and Fergie just left! When my cousin passed in 1999 I wrote John Ferguson and what a great man! Hockey players are such class people and seeing Nick here in this clip was so beautiful. When I see his Dad Mike with him and his brother Marcus it is so great! Such love and respect. RIP Janis Foligno!

Nick is a class act and a true leader. Nick is a well deserved Captain and CBJ is fortunate to have him leading the team. I have been a fan of Nick since I first observed him with the fans during the losing times and to see him not change, one bit, in these winning times is a testament to his integrity and character. Nick is always gonna be my CBJ Captain. Love ya Nick and your success is well earned. Your mother is one proud ANGEL.

I used to go to every Wolves games back in the 70's when they entered the OHA. What an incredible team with the likes of Mike Foligno, Randy Carlyle, Rod Schutt, Ron Duguay, Dave Hunter, Dave Farrish, Dale Hunter etc etc etc. They should have won 3 or 4 Memorial Cups. Now that Nick is with the Leafs I might even cheer for the Leafs in the playoffs for the very first time. lol

Both my Mom and Dad were from Manitoulin Island and met and married in Soult Ste Marie just prior to the depression when they returned to the Manitoulin as farm hands. Both Mom and Dad were orphans After the depression Dad got a job at INCO in Sudbury and so they moved there with my Brother and I. We lived on Pine Street in the west end and i fondly remember ice hockey on frozen ponds and lots of baseball games and I became a "ball boy" for the Sudbury Shamrocks a mine league. The ball yard was at Elm and Regent streets. Bell Park and Lake Ramsey were big attractions in summer. When Dad retired after 38 years they built a cottage or {camp} as Northerners call it at West Arm near St Charles. Back then Sudbury was gritty and very blue collar however reforestation began years ago and so the city is 'greening up: Mom always never missed a chance to say how Sudbury was a real home to them. Years later I realized she meant Sudbury had given them a way out of being poor and for a while homeless. .We had a house, Dad had a job with a company that never missed a payday in all his 38 years there and now had a company pension. To Mom it was salvation and she gave Sudbury full credit. So do I.

hey nick just wanted to ask when you were coached what state was that in? or where exactly was it? if your wondering why im asking... my uncle his name is doug. he is my most favorite uncle ever. when i was younger he told me he was your coach. i thought that was awesome. in 2019 your last home game before christmas i met my uncle in columbus and he said why dont we go to a blue jackets game... after that he said nick is such a nice guy maybe you can meet him after the game. after that i was so excited. turns out he was doing a even more amazing thing and helping out at a children’s hospital. so nick if you ever see this comment just wanted to say your my favorite hockey player and to all the blue jackets your my favorite hockey team even though im your next sate neighbor
