@@phoenixchampion7 the characters barely talk with each other or have meaningful conversations,disney princesses being keys to some random door was never properly explained and ansem transformed like 6 different times in the ending, i never felt like there was any merit to the writing or plot itself, and it confuses me why people really want to argue for it when there was barely even an attempt at an interesting story with deep themes or compelling characters

Well, Sora still can use magic even after Riku takes the Keyblade, so he's not completely useless assuming you haven't been fighting physically the whole game.

Robert Aguirre FFXV WAS GREAT. While it has its faults I still really enjoy it as a game. The scoring felt nice and natural in it and helped keep things from feeling monotonous when a fight got long because I was criminally underleveled at end game.

This part of the game is so damn well done. The name of the level, itself, Hollow Bastion. The music. The design. Everything is telling the player that this place is dangerous and something terrible is about to happen. The vibe completely changes from one of slightly cartoonish anime fun to very dire seriousness. Your objective is finally before you. And as you go deeper you can't shake the ominous feeling that there's no going back after what happens here.

Ansem/Riku was cheap. At least with Dragon Malefacent you still have your allies. And the cutscene is brief. Thankfully I heard that you can skip cutscenes in the later versions.

I might be reading too far into this, but beast was a perfect ally to Sora. Sora was a 14 year old boy who just lost his weapon, his allies and his best friend all at the same time. Beast was once a sane man. Meaning he too was once a young boy. Stripped of his innocence. He couldn’t watch the epitome of innocence suffer twice.

This music is a resounding success. When I first came to this world and heard the music, I (Sora) stood still for the first few minutes of the song playing. I set down the controller and simply listened to the music play. I was interested in the storyline, especially at this particular climax of the storyline, but the music captured me even more than anything that the developers could dream up. I would argue that producing music that is more attractive than the game itself is no easy feat in general, and with a game as amazing as Kingdom Hearts it seems impossible. But this soundtrack is beauty.

I am not sure why exactly, but I thought of this theme when I woke up today. I have been struggling a lot for various reasons lately, so I would like to believe that just as one is close to achieving the ultimate goal in this game by this point after a series of external and internal struggles, I am finally close to achieving my current ultimate goal of achieving full independence after a series of external and internal struggles I have gone through. This theme was made for a place that was taken over by darkness. but there is hope in it because the light you have been seeking for so long is finally close.

Thank god they chose this for the Smash Bros stage instead of something more boring. I always loved this castle's design and wanted to see each individual map (Castle Gates, Great Crest, High Tower) merged since you couldn't in the actual game.

Something is awfully creepy about Hollow Bastion. I think it's the desolate landscape with that castle from hell looming on the horizon. And no, I'm not talking about the castle in the picture.

I think one of the things that made it so creepy was how it was a completely new and original world coming after you had just played through so many relateable Disney worlds. Even traverse town is pretty friendly up until this point in the game. Its a completely foreign landscape with maze-like elements, new difficult enemies, and for the first half of it Sora is all alone! Creepy indeed.

Ugh I don’t know how to describe the feeling I get from this track, there’s such a sense of urgency to it. Like this is what the journey has built up to, and it will test them more than any other part of the adventure...... but time’s running out, and if you don’t hurry, it’ll be too late. This is my favorite world in KH1 (and probably in the whole series). Music matches the atmosphere perfectly and all of the scenery shows that the castle was abandoned for a long time and now it belongs to darkness. I could literally feel the darkness in that castle unlike in KH2 where I didn't really feel the darkness in the Organization's 13 stronghold. I really wished that it would remain like this even after Sora sealed the keyhole. So that made me a bit disappointed when I first visited Hollow Bastion in KH2 and found out that it is different now and there won't be a good old Hollow Bastion with a great music anymore(

I know it was called "Radiant Garden" before KH1 and after KH2, but this world will always be Hollow Bastian to me. Great track, badass enemies, and plot twists, reveals, and the most shocking moments were all in this world!

Even though, this theme song is about the place being empty and abandoned and all of the other things that it's about, I strangely feel at home while listening to this version. I always imagine myself watching the sunset and sunrise from the balcony of the castle everytime I listen to this version, lol.

Most of the time, when I have the urge to play this game again, it's only for the first trip to Hollow Bastion. The heartless at that point are stupidly powerful, and such a challenge to fight. (Unless you're over leveled). Best part of the game for me. :)

I remember being so immersed, wowed, fearful, slightly tensioned raised, and above all in awe at this place as a kid. Little did any of us know almost two decades later we’d see Mario & Luigi fighting each other, let alone the likes of Solid Snake using his weapons against someone like…Ganandorf of all people. Thank you Sakurai for giving it your all to get Sora in Smash, and to Disney & Square Enix for coordinating with Nintendo to get it to happen. 🙏

KH is a masterpiece. This song is a masterpiece. The asymmetry in 5/8, the constant tension of the chords... but one hand going up and the other going down in symmetry, just like heart and hollow. Just like light and shadow, dancing in an endless motion.

Though most Disney-movies aren't childish, but family-friendly. The greatest strength of Disney is their ability to make children and adults alike cry, laugh and (most importantly) FEEL. I doubt that Kingdom Hearts would have been as emotional as it is if Disney would've been excluded from the equation.

Super stoked to see this stage in smash bros. Hollow Bastion and it’s music we’re always so mysterious. Brought a sense of wonder and thrill when playing. I was 12 when this game came out and I’m so glad I’ve been on this journey ever since.

Everything about the real Hollow Bastion amazes me. The castle architecture, the music, typical heartless... every fucking detail: waterway, lift stop, the rotating system thing in the library, the water going up instead of down, the atmosphere... Makes me realize how much I miss it :( I wish there were more titles with Hollow Bastion.

One of, if not the best worlds and tracks in this whole game. I was mesmerized by Hollow Bastion as soon as I got there. Everything about it, the music, the atmosphere, the pieces of the story. It was a masterpiece without doubt.

Last time I played through KH, I levelled up Sora's MP bar as much as possible. I think I had gravitas when I entered Hollow Bastion for the first time then. I was able to beat all enemies with one hit of Gravitas just not the Defendor. I had to use gravitas and fira two times. It was worth it lol. Why I did that? All the times I played KH before then I hated having to leave everything to the beast. He's super overpowered by the way, look at his maximum attack stats, that's mind blowing lol.
