He won us a cup didn't he. God Bless him. Since Covid F-ed up everything this team hasn't been the same. Let's hope the mini rebuild in 2023-2024 season will be a major improvement. Berube is a great coach. I never get tired of "this speech"

The only thing this has in common with Boudreau's speech is that they both used the F-word, literally one of the most commonly used words in the English language. Boudreau was yelling at his players for "feeling sorry for themselves" and having bad body language and low effort. Berube was praising his team and pumping them up for being a "fucking good hockey team." When "fucking" is used as an adjective that means "very", then two speeches that both use the F-word are very different if one is saying the boys are very sorry for themselves and the other saying they are a very good hockey team. I get it, it's a fun word. But the context is more important than the word itself.

@@davidwatson6725 Berube isn't a nun addressing the choir boys on easter mass, nor is he presenting financials in a corporate meeting. He's a hockey coach addressing adult hockey players who play one of the toughest and exciting professional sports today. The location and context of the speech matters. Only someone who lacks the basic understanding that different social situations have differences in acceptable vocabulary would criticize the etiquette or "class" of this speech. This is hockey, a sport that millions enjoy because it is direct, rough and unpolished. 99% of hockey players and coaches have the "F word" as part of their active vocabulary, so if this sport is beneath you, maybe take a break from the hockey videos before the stick up your butt gets too twisted. Because you're definitely going to hear that word.

another difference is that Berube was an enforcer while playing whereas Boudreau was a chubby little skill forward

Put this on your headphones and listen to it on repeat during work 😊 I honestly just recited this speech on the Cardinals Facebook page to try to get them pumped up. 😊 Then I got teary-eyed thinking what if they can string together 10 wins and be right back in this ?? It could happen I feel very emotional about it. 😮 We can win tonight and it'll be a three-game winning streak or we can lose. I think Adams going to hang tough tonight I think he's going to come out and really do good. That's a really good lineup in Tampa Bay, if he can come out and do good he's going to show people he's still got it... I love this game so much. I've lived here all my 36 years within a 20 mile radius of Saint Louis, never lived outside of that... I remember 2011 I was there. 😊

Boudreau's speech has nothing on this, Berube actually makes sense and has a narrative/story to what he says. Boudreau's speech from what I recall was just a blabbering mess with no structure and only profanity-filled for the sake of profanity.

A huge Blues fan myself but one can argue Boston in that series was the better team a lot of the time. Blues were outshot at times, out played at home at times and on the road but the Blues came up big when needed and got the game 7 win. Very evenly played series but the Blues got the edge. What scared me the most was mid way through the second period when Schenn hit the crossbar and had the chance to put the game away. I about sh*t myself thinking that was going to bite them in the arse later and Boston would win it.
