There are so many blues guitar turnarounds and if you are playing the 12-bar form or any type of blues guitar, I think you should know at least a few common turnarounds (and one or two extra cool ones). This video guitar lesson explains how turnarounds are built from a series of chords, and the melody of the turnaround comes from a descending or ascending melodic line based on those chords. You will learn how to play easy to complex turnarounds and variations.

Just came across your channel yesterday. Your lessons are great! While of course,music theory is important to understand any instrument, but your approach of teaching the what to do,rather than the why at first is appreciated.

Great video lesson. I am an intermediate player and have been practicing many of these turnaround licks for an couple of years now, but you have given me some more to play with. I also like to use a turnaround as an intro. Maybe you could do a video on bar chord turnarounds as well. Nice guitar! I've been eyeing the Tribute Les Pauls especially because of their satin necks.

Nice context man! Also, what would be great to see is different chord progressions along with different strumming patterns (rhythm) followed by melodies on different scales. Pretty much a rhythm and lead guitar jam practice ideas video.

In these videos I use a UA Dream 65, basically a fender deluxe reverb. That will be brighter than a blues junior. I find those a bit dark. Maybe try turning the treble up a bit. It depends on so many things

there's 2 parts to a turnaround, beginning & ending, are you descending on the beginning @ ascending on the ending of the turnaround. I'm trying to find a way for a lead guitar turnaround instead of rhythm playing. thank you
@GuitarLessonsVancouver
@GuitarLessonsVancouver 5 ай бұрын
There are so many turnarounds that ascend or descend and vice versa. Most important thing is that it highlights the chords at that moment. In a blues that's usually I chord to V chord at that moment.
