As a supporter of a league 1 club, you need to be VERY careful with this; '1 season in league 1' and 'we'll come straight back up'. Ask bolton, pompey, derby, ipswich, charlton (and many others) if they thought they'd come straight back up. Especially when there's unrest. Not saying you won't, but be careful.

I know exactly what you mean, we done exactly the same thing when we got relegated from the premier league in 2016, we came down spent £80 million signing all top championship players thinking we’d walk the league just because we were the biggest club in the division & yet we finished 13th, it took us three years to get back up. Slightly lower level league one but they’re definitely in for a rude awakening thinking they’ll walk the league at the first attempt!

Thanks for a season of really enjoyable vids Block39 .... but being honest and a combo of examples, / Rooneys leaving a gap in front of the back three that others exploited ruthlessly, / not taking full points from the bottom clubs, / 6 different managers in a season, / inability all season to direct the ball between the sticks to increase the chance of scoring (Eg, Paik today) ... Ive copped a lot of stick for my BCFC support from Villa fans. I would just say, ive been to nearly all the grounds in that area. And I have had great away days at all. Its just nice also see Coventry have a good season - the fans have had the club badly run for years & now had a good season. Villa i would love to see in the champions league, a break from the big six. My best season would be Saints / pompey/ brighton/ Bournemouth in the same league. Bcfc/ villa/ wolves/Coventry/ WBA, got to be the more interesting.

Commiserations on your relegation it’s a horrible feeling. As a Charlton fan I’m fully aware of it as it’s happened to us in the past. I respect your optimism about next season but league one is not easy at all, you may have an unwelcome surprise. Don’t underestimate the league look at Sunderland and Ipswich as well as us (Charlton) spending so long down there trying to get back up. All the best next year and look forward to playing you guys again, hopefully we both go up together.

We can put money into the team in league 1 something you cannot do in the championship there is no FFP in league 1 just look at Ipswich. If we rebuild right, we will be better off for it, we have more money than league 1 is worth in its entirety. We can attract all the best league 1and some good championship players. So that will most definitely help. We are not like Chalton Dubry and others that have gone down bankrupt.

Villa were in the 3rd division when I started going regular with my mates. Blues ,West Brom and wolves were in the first division. I didn’t give a shit I followed my club. We spent two seasons , before we got out . Then some very highs and very lows . So chin up and get on with getting promoted.

Unlucky birmingham. As a wednesday fan, lots of recent big teams relegated to league one think they will walk it in a season and find out the hard way it takes much longer. However, i think birmingham will come straight back up, next seasons league one has no other real big clubs and under new ownership birmingham will surely have by far the biggest budget and support. Can only see blues winning the league. Hopefully u keep them scruffs from huddersfield rotherham and barnsley down there too.
