Very good review not too technical just the basics and right amount of data for a casual end user. One thing I wish more reviewers would touch on is #1 the warranty and how the manufacture wants the customer to initiate one. #2 the customer service, response time. In the US we place these items as part of the product and not some kind of gratuitous perk being given to us by the vendor. I can't tell you how many times I have read about Bluetti customer service as not responsive to a simple email question. Also, when you go to the BBB and read about the complaints its really kinda concerning. And to be honest I really like the spec's and general overall look, dimensions of the AC200max but seriously am cautious when I read the customer support comments. Again, thanks for your review very good for a laymen looking to purchase.

In rural Australia I emailed customer service. They responded in 24 hrs and asked me to video the fault. 24 hours after that they responded with instructions for returning it for repair. It was picked up the next day and returned 10 days later. That was over Easter when we had 2 public holidays and 4 weekend days. I don’t live in a metropolitan city. I like the service I got. As an aside, the AC and DC on/off function stopped working via the touch screen. Still worked via the app. Works ok now.

I’ve just bought one to replace an Ecoflow delta max to power my camper, couple of reasons, upgrade to lifepo4 batteries , although I could have stuck with Ecoflow for that, but the big reason to move to this is the DC 30a aviation plug, much more secure than a 12v 10a cigarette lighter socket and I need more than 10a as I have 2 fridges, diesel heater, lights etc, 10a just isn’t quite enough.

Great review as always. Might have been a little generous on the points scale! Thank you. Your pros and cons really summed it up , surprising it is lacking some of the basics ie charge/discharge time, external PowerBrick, UPS, etc. A question if I may. Using the NEMA does it have the ability to combine with another unit to do a 240 split face output with a combiner plug in hub, similar to EcoFlow. A very happy New Year to all of you, a big hi to Brooklyn

Great review, as always. Thanks so much I think that with the 5hr long AC charging, external brick chargers and lack of UPS should have cost them more points, and take them to a 6.5 or 6, especially as other more affordable (with even higher wattage) power stations have fast charging and UPS features this one lacks. Well done!

Solar generators fascinate me but until they can power 3 refrigerators, a freezer, television, home led lights and my gas furnace (don't want pipes freezing) I'm stuck using my generator. That said, someday when we downsize, and solar generators keep being improved, I'm sure they'll be an option. Al, as usual, great review..👍

Fantasitc review. I just purchased an EB3A because it was a good price and I wanted to get my feet wet with solar. I also purchased a Renogy 200W portable panel. Living on the Gulf Coast I want to be prepared. We get a lot of rough weather here. Not just hurricanes but severe thunderstorms as well. I have had two recent short term power outages where powering my router and cable modem would have been nice. I also have two gasoling generators but they are a pain to drag out and hook up. I will be looking into a larger solar generator unit soon. Thanks for the review. I subbed.

@WayneTheSeine

@@TechMadeEzy Yep...I got it mostly to charge our phones and run a small laptop for short, hour or so, outages. The large units are nice but so expensive. I am thinking of going with a couple of solar suitcases, (2) 210 AH LiFePo4 batteries and a high quality inverter like the EG4 All-in-one Solar System: 3000W Inverter, 5000W MPPT, 80A Battery Charger. It may not be pretty but should serve the purpose. Anything over a 3 hour outage I will fire up the gens. Price wise it still comes in more than I wish but expanding the batteries will be much cheaper...if needed. Edit: Upon further research the EG4 is 48V so that knocks that out of the picture. I liked it because it was an all in one unit.

I'm in Australia and paid 2294 AUD supposedly Black Friday sale. $1299 US is about $1973 AUD at the moment but there are a lot of factors to consider but just comparing it to previous prices it seemed pretty good. I've already got an AC180 with the 200w solar panels and have been pretty impressed. The 200max is just going to give us some more options for power outages and travelling with caravan. Cheers and thanks.

Hi, thanks for the review. I have got mine 2 days before Christmas after having to wait for a month. The two extra batteries took another two months to wait, they just came a week ago. Two more huge boxes! Both batteries were charged 60% each, like 3 LED dots out of 5, and I am still decharging them as I plugged in the Wifi router through the 12 V cigarette lighter outlet and an LED light. It will take some time, then I will charge everything (AC200max plus 2 B230) to 100% and then, wedding day, plug them in! Let's see how that works. What I found out: the percentage of the AC200max does erratic jumps. Stays at some 95% for pretty long, when switched off and on the next day, it jumps to 15%. I have heard that LiFePo4 cells do not "tell" how much they are charged, they can't be measured like other battery types, so the unit needs to calculate and add al extracted power to just determine the rest of charge mathematically. Some people said it needs to "learn", or being calibrated by fully discharge and charge again. This is what I did but the erratic percentage jumps are still there. Well, I haven't tried often enough, maybe, I keep on going, but is you could find out something, I would be delighted to hear. In the meantime, thanks for testing, greetz to Brooklyn, from Germany :-)
@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Жыл бұрын
my advice, don't let it go to 0%, min should be 10% no more, same with 100%, try and go to 90% to extend battery life. I didn't have an opportunity to get a battery but its a real nice power station from my short experience with it. Have you reached out to Bluetti?
@misterincredible6819
@misterincredible6819 Жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for this quick response! Yep, I have been asking in the Bluetti forum and they suggested to do a couple of zero-to-full charges to let the machine learn to calculate the capacity. Well, I keep on trying, and since I don't like to waste precious electric power just for test purposes through space heaters etc., it might take a while. The AC200max is now stuck at 14%. During my next "run" I will keep everything switched on constantly and see how that works out. If I'm exploring new things, I'll write back. Of course, usually I won't do the zero-to-full-charges under normal useage conditions... Btw. I am very satisfied with my Jackery Explorer 1000 and Explorer 2000PRO. No frills, solid and the quietest fans I ever did not hear. Tests made by some german guys turned out that Jackery is using a unique monitoring and safety system in their powerstation. Have you tried these, too? Altogether I am holding a capacity of roughly 10 kWh, that should be a nice blackout-firewall, hehe... Greetz from Germany!

I have not had the opportunity to do a review for jackery and honestly my budget is very limited I'm hoping one day they'll reach out to us I have definitely tried reaching out to them. I will tell you I don't really worry too much about the batteries syncing with the power station when it comes to percentage unless it's really far off but good luck with your journey stay in touch and thank you so much

I found a workaround solution for the lack of wifi. You can get an older iPhone or older android phone (not your main phone) and connect that to a usb charging device permanently so the phone doesn’t die. You then connect that phone via Bluetooth to the Bluetti device. You then get teamview quick support app and you can use that on any other device like a pc or another phone to monitor the other phone. You will only be able to monitor it, not turn things on or off or adjust settings. It’s only a monitor. I’ve done it before and it works.

We have frequent power losses due to squirrels and the occasional storms. When I travel out of town I love the security of knowing that if I loose power my fridge will continue to run until power is restored, and then the a/c plug will recharge my power bank again. I am wondering….why does the Bluetti not show the wattage used when it’s so little? Like when the coffee stopped perking, but the heater was still being used….I have had mine turn off over night on me when I was running the aquarium stuff on a power outage. Becz the draw wasn’t a lot. I asked bluetti and they asked if eco was on…but it wasn’t…..I’m concerned. It does stay on over night if the draw is substantial….but I’d like to depend on it for all things, large or small..like my aquarium it’s life or death for them😳

True, it is a bit bigger and heavier. But, because of the batteries it has. It gives you many more charge cycles than the others. Sacrificing some ease portability for 3,500 cycles compared to 500 or 800 cycles is nice though.

If you are looking for lighter weight, you should go with the Jackery 2000 Pro. But it's more expensive and you'll get fewer than half the recharging cycles. But it all depends on your priorities. I have the Jackery 1000 Pro for camping. The AC200 Max is for running my refrigerator when the power is out.

If you had a solar panel hooked up while running the refrigerator test, would it have extended the run time of the fridge?

@TechMadeEzy Thanks, definitely answered my question. I'm trying to power the refrigerator on my boat for 5 days while I'm away, without the diesel generator firing up. Looks like a 2000whr power station and a solar panel array will handle that easily.(sun cooperating!)

is it ok to use 3x405 watts panels i know maximum solar charge is only 900 would it damage the battery or would it just regulate the charge to 900 to prevent it from damaging?
@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Жыл бұрын
It all depends on how you're setting up the panels if you're setting them up in series or you're setting them up in parallel. Be very careful and do more research before.
@Lungulescu17
@Lungulescu17 Жыл бұрын
@@TechMadeEzy was wondering the same question he had. Assuming in series, (as in parallel would exceed amparage) would exceeding the 900w damage anything or it will just keep it at 900w rating eventhough its 1200w?
@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Жыл бұрын
If you’re setting it up and series as long as you stay under, the voltage requirement more wattage won’t matter.

regarding solar charging. I disagree with you, as all you need is the panels and cables. Charge controler is built in to ac200 max so they plug in directly i have 3 at 410W panels. yes they do exceed the 900 limit but I will never get enough sun to do that living in UK, and if it did exceed the limit the ac200 will just throtle it down to 900w so no harm done. other than solar input, a great review.

@@piamadison5539 sorry I think you are asking the wrong person, as I never mentioned Ecoflow in my coment , I have a AC200max from Ebay bought on a black friday deal saving about £100 and was given a 12 month interest free PayPal ebay deal. PayPal interest free credit is normaly only if paid within 3 months. I did actually want the Ecoflow delta pro, £3500 I wanted the ability to charge it at an ev station!, but that exceeded my credit limit so i went for ac200 max.

@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Жыл бұрын
Hi there You would have to figure out the wattage it should be listed in the manual or on the website and sometimes it's listed on the unit but that's going to be important you also want to know if there's any surge wattage which I believe your air conditioner will definitely have a surge. So you need two things your surge wattage and your normal wattage then you can choose the power station that you need and just make sure it has a large enough battery so it can run as long as you need.
