It's hard to explain this condition to those not in the medical community. Even in the medical community, it's rarely known about. As a medical student with CVS, I thank you for this version that is friendly to show to my family.

I'll be sending to my family as well. Most of them don't believe it is real... I wish it wasn't.

My sons CVS was finally SOLVED! 🙏 It’s completely healed now. It was not a stomach disorder like his gastroenterologist thought. Instead, by a fluke, at a new ER, they ran more tests and after imaging his kidneys they found a polyp in his ureter (the tube leading from his kidney to his bladder) that would occasionally block the flow of urine, where it would build up in his kidney and cause excruciating stomach pain (really it was kidney pain that he felt in his stomach) and vomiting. The polyp was removed and he has never had a single episode now in years! I know this may not solve everyone’s CVS, but I hope it will point some of you toward other potential downstream organs, not just the gastro region.

Thank you so much for your hard work, research, time and empathy. CVS is such a horrible thing to go through. So few health care providers ever understood or believed me. You are heroes in my eyes! Thank you!!!

What to do when im seeing the BEST CVS docs in NYC and they all tell me they have never saw such a severe and complex case. I have ben suffering since 2011 every test done almost every medication taken. Nothing works. CVS is ruthless. My prayers and heart goes out to everyone with this syndrome and more importantly parents with a infant with CVS. Don't give up stay strong

@@markdruck The safest for me was fioricet cyproheptadine and xanax. I'm on totally different treatment now. Not only do I have CVS my adrenal glands are in overdrive...so my current treatment is to harsh for most ppl....narcotics that are heavily addictive I dont really wanna post it then others will do it and may not even be necessary. I've tried everything on the treatment list...if you could be more specific about your worst symptoms I could try to reccomend something...be well

@KAZthesinger its been 10yrs searching just last night the doc has me in a new on prophanol..its working good...I've taken over 30diff meds...you are very lucky...God forbid if it ever comes back go to the doc and ask for cyproheptadine peractin...its a children's antihistamine...it worked for 2 or 3 months...then on to the next... the best most successful treatment was oxycodone. It was taken off all treatment lists back in 2018...but if ur in Germany and go to any ER they give u sedatives and oxycodone here in the US they blame us and treat us terribly for the most part. God bless those doctors who have a heart for us...their angels..its a monster of a syndrome.

@KAZthesinger Wow im 40yrs old..you need too keep on top of it. It can get very bad. Dont eat outside food No MSG chocolate cheese anything that can cause a migraine headache. God bless...get diagnosed properly and set in stone cause God forbid you have it as long as i did...cause when ur older the doctors seem to lose sympathy and tell us its our fault

I think it is important to note that benzodiazepine also impacts one of the antiemetic neurotransmitters that others do not and therefore provides a greater chance at aborting or relieving an episode. ER doctors may not be familiar with this it is used most often in chemotherapy to help prevent vomiting bring literature to educate them and hand it to them if you are sick and go into the hospital. the CVSA - Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome Association - has a printout of the best treatment protocols that one can bring to a doctor or E.D.. I carry it every time I go to the hospital.

For adults you get blown off by many doctors if you mention you've tried marijuana as a treatment. They automatically blame the weed. I know that some people get sick from smoking, but not every. Freaking. Body.

so far amitriptyline is the only medication that has worked for me. I take 75mg a day. My doctor is trying to wean me off of it because it causes accelerated heart rate while resting (120+). The DR is concerned about the cardiac side affects but taking a lower dose doesn't work and no other meds I've tried works. It does cause weight gain as well. I've gained about 20 pounds since I've been on it for the last 10 months. Not totally happy about the side effects but if the choice is being sick every other week and hospitalized I'll take the amitriptyline.

The opiate combinations I take work better than just adivan! Adivan does nothing for the pain...it feels like my bowel and stomach are turning inside out and I'm trying to throw them up... I have given birth to 2 babies, both over 12 lbs, NATURALLY! No pain meds, no epidural, and let me tell you, a CVS attack hurts more than child birth! It is longer, the retching and dry heaving nonstop for 36 to 78 hrs, with no let up...at least child birth pain comes in waves, this pain and headache is so painful without opiates I would have JUMPED off the nearest mountain top long ago...I have been so uncomfortable that I have seriously considered suicide over a hospital visit and the bullshit I am put through at the hands of hospital emergency staff.

Funny thing! after all I had gone through in my 30 year fight with CVS going through all the things we all have gone through in the ER and the people who treat you bad, clueless Doctors and the endless tests. just too much to go on about without bringing on an episode, until one day I got a phone call from a stranger, she told me she used to have CVS and told me what to do. No More CVS since then. Maybe it will work for you?

The lady dressed in all black you can tell her body language she don't care about anything. she probably thinking what she going to have for dinner hurry up I don't want to go home. It's funny when the guy with the glasses ask that person do you have a question I don't know if your guys noticed her body language with that attitude that she have written all over her face. it's funny because when I see a doctor who acts that way with that kind of body language I right away I fired them and go find myself another doctor.
