This is the first parade of the season. Thosw students in every day school uniform are the new members of the band. The seniors are gone. They have even graduated from the school and are on their way to college. Last years secon year and first year students are now the new third and second years and the first years have had little or no training. This is the band's way of welcoming them to the band.They are marching and clapping, but not dancing or playing their instruments. There is also a band member at the end who is clapping. THis is likely someone who has an injury which keeps him or her from dancing or playing but who still wants to be with the march. Note that the first years in this video were the third years of 2020 and have now graduated. They made a great video for a conntest, but the pandemic robbed them of almost all of their other performance opportunities. They served more importantly to keep the tradition alive. This is a video of the 2019 Blumen Hugel parade. The first years in this parade are now the current third years of 2021. You will see, I think, Chippi in the first row, right side of the video (left side of the band) and Kurara is in the third row behind her, already showing a serious limp. The Blumen Hugel scenes are followed by the Brass Expo which is held in May. This is about the time that Kurara ran into a serious problem with her leg which required the surgery, but I think she may be in the middle of the last row. (I need replacement cornea transplants so my vision is not real sharp right now. I have not seen part 2 of this series.

The bari sax player on the marching left fell during this performance and damaged her left knee, see 29:21, but jumped right up and finished the parade. Due to her knee injury and possible damage to her instrument she walked behind the band in the afternoon parade and did not play. Tachibana kids are tough! There are currently 3 members of O-Vils from this group: the leading CG. the DM (Palinpu) and one of the girl sousaphone player (I think she's the one on the second row). The 2020 DM (Mako) is on the second row of trombone players farthest from the camera. Stay healthy guys especially Batam.

FYI DM is Suzuka, leading of Color guard is Mafran, left wing of Sousaphone is Yurumowa. They are the member of O-vils. Also saxophone player Rino is a member of O-vils. but I couldn’t recognize her in this video.

This was the first live parade of tachibana I'd ever seen. The parade started at 11:00 am. By 10:00 a.m., the parking lot for 2000 cars was full, and by 10:30 a.m., the road leading to the Blumen Hügel was jammed for miles! This year's freshman class was very large, about 45 students. Tachibana's popularity is heating up more and more!

KT Fun Fact: Uniforms. 1 - Orange uniforms - their most famous is their "lucky" orange uniforms. The orange comes from the fruit of the Tachibana citrus fruit (a type of mandarin orange). The white hair ribbon in their hair represent the white flower petals of the fruit. BTW...have you noticed there are two shades of Orange in their uniforms? Some skirts and straps are a lighter "faded" shade of orange and some are a slightly darker orange. It's not because the uniforms are faded. It's due to the manufacturer of the original material closing their business. This forced KT to get their material from another source. They selected an orange as close as possible to the original orange, but they weren't the same. Although they are two different shades, many of the members prefer the lighter "original" shade of orange, which is why they haven't changed them all for the "new" orange uniforms. 2 - Blue and Gold uniforms - Not seen in public parades since the 2016 school year. Still used in their school's regular concerts. 3 - Blue Happi Coats with white skirts - Although not originally designed for the their Hawaii trips, often referred to as their "Hawaii Uniforms". 4 - Concert uniform - White tuxedo jacket with black pants, made its debut in December of 2020. This uniform replaces their red jackets with white skirts/pants. 5 - White KT T-Shirt and tracksuit pants - although considered their "practice uniform" they often use it parades. The DM's T-Shirt is slightly different from the other, as it has a red colored T. 6 - School uniform - KT will from time to time use their school uniform at events. 7 - Winter support sport teams uniform - Red sweatshirt with tracksuit pants 8 - Combination of one of the elements of one uniform with the others. 8a - Orange uniforms with black tracksuit pants. Class 115 (see 2018 Sakura Parade) often used this combination. Probably due to colder weather but still wanting to use their Orange Uniforms 8b - Orange uniform skirt/pants with white T-Shirt. Featured in this Blumen Hugel video. The straps which are usually criss-crossed over their shoulders are used like a belt over black band of their skirts, which is tied in a bow in front. 8c - Orange uniform skirt/pants (boys) with event/team tops 8d - School uniform skirts/pants with a different top - Senior class at Tachibanasai. 8e - There may be other combinations. Thank you for your nice reactions again to my favorite marching band. This is the last time they march in Blumen Hugel before the pandemic. I think they only wear this type of uniform 3 times a year (Sakura Festival, Blumen Hugel and Brass Band Expo). All those students wearing school uniform are seniors now. I think is customary for the Japanese to wear mask if they have cold/allergy or flu symptoms that's why you see some of them with mask on.

I think this batch 116 chippi is graduated this time, this the time of penguin, the cute girl with multi-drum set at the right side of the girl with xylophone.

Pinguin is the small statured girl. In this video she's in charge of quart-toms (in RP2018 she played glockenspiel next to Chippi). At 9:58 she just passing your view. As she marched on the right row, at 10:38 she's facing the spectators at the other side.

Hi DKR. Chippi and Kurara have already graduated by this year. And yes many faces will look new to you. The DM in this video is Palinpu (Suzuka) who is the flute player you saw in the O-vills video. She also carried the green Green Band flag in the Rose Parade videos you've watched. The students at the rear are first year KT Band students. In the beginning they follow along to observe.

I thinkI have said this befor, but Blumen Hugel is German for Flower Hill. When Japan was modernizing in the late 19th century, they were looking for models in Europe for political, economic and industrial changes. Mainly,, they fluctuated between Germany and Britain. The Germans sent a number of delegations to Japan as advisers, and as a diplomatic effort, I suspect that they also created and donated Blumen Hugel to Japan as a park. Note that this was before the World Wars. Japan was against Germany in WW I and allied with Germany during WW II

Whenever I want to feel joy, all I do is watch your KT reaction video. It gives me life! Blumen Hugel is a German Farm in Japan. And if you may have noticed the architectural designs are of German-style? Gotta enjoy the view of the farm without leaving your comfort zone! Am I the only one who noticed a Percussion hiccup at 31:03? The Trumpet player who turned head at P-chan seems to agree with me.

Hi Dark Knight Reactors, others have already commented on the O-VIL Members, the orange and white " hot day " uniform, the new sophomore ( freshman ) first year members in the latest school uniforms. Also, this Parade is repeated twice during the day. One of the baritone saxophone players had a fall in the first Parade, skinned her knee and marched as " injured reserve " in the second Parade just ahead of the sophomore members.
