영상을 이제야 보내요. 저기 갔었던 블저씨입니다. 고3때 수능 한달전 부산에서 학교째고 갔죠. 영국이랑 수교 100주년 기념이라 일본투어하러 오는길에 억지로 한국에 딸랑 하루 땡긴거죠. 에릭클랩튼, 부쉬, 그리고 블러. 다시는 안오더만요.

핫뮤직 등 잡지도 있었고 메동회원들도 많았고. 김포공항영접 독산동노보텔 회견 정동공연 다갔었어요 자랑해봅니다ㅋ 기자회견에서 그레이엄콕슨에 요즘 뭐듣냐고 기자가 질문해서 욜라텡고 듣는다니까 통역사는 탱고음악 듣는다고 하고 음악지 기자들은 풉하고. 브릿팝~적혀있는거보구 그레이엄이 그 후랭카드 뜯어내고 하던거 기억나요. 블러 스웨이드 좋아하던 분들은 저스틴 스타일 따라하고...추억돋네요

90년대가 무슨 50년대도 아니고, 인터넷없어도 잡지 다 돌고, 블러정도는 CD, 테입으로 이미 팬덤 형성 끝난 뒤죠. 인터넷은 그냥 거들뿐이었슴.

Young Albarn somehow fitted the Korean aesthetic back then in the 90s. Slim charismatic boy with feminine features yet still a masculine face. Literally every mom (and dad lol) of my Korean and Japanese friends were in love with Albarn and Blur when they were teenagers in the 90s.

@@kamilyakadyr7063 Maybe Suede's aesthetic (especially Brett Anderson & Neil Codling) was part of the reason they had a decent following in Korea as well compared to some other Britpop bands.

@@jonedepth9164 Oasis also had a huuuuge following in Korea/Japan. I think Britpop used it's "alternative rock boy/girl band" as a marketing strategy, specifically appealing to the younger audience. They were pretty much all good looking and had strong personalities. This kind of stuff sells well in East Asia. Blur, Suede, Oasis, Elastica's etc. publicists knew what they were doing. Also!! from analytical point of view!! The 80's was dominated with conservatism, a set-back from progressive 70's, the conservatives were dominating - Reagens win in USA and Margaret Thatcher being very influential in UK's political system. 90's popculture was kind of a reaction to that, so Britpop (being born as a British reaction to Grunge, which also criticized conservatism), apart from being a youth-appealing Rock music genre, was a criticizing "pop-culture" force to this conservative, materialistic, sexist and nationalist society. I mean even the bands were concidered having a scandalous behavior, with partying all night and singing songs about bisexuality lol. Japan and Korea had a major change, going from a very conservative to a more economic and society-wise progressive country, so I think both the " cute, charismatic boy band" notion, and the "criticism of conservative society" helped their popularity in East Asia especially.

저때 내가 고1이이었는데.. 참 세월이 빠르다. 저런 동영상이 당시에는 만들어질지도 몰랐고 블러는 channel V에서밖에 볼 수 없었던 시절이었다,. 접근성이 그만큼 떨어졌지. (나한테만?)
