Have you ever wondered how to go from novice to master as quickly as possible (specifically with an art medium)?
I've been there too, but after a few years of art school, teaching for 10 years and more art supplies than I can count-I've got 3 tips for you to help you on your way to becoming an experienced artist in whatever new medium you venture to master!
Flower Drawing Challenge: www.blusheddesign.com/flower-...
DIGITAL DRAWING SUPPLIES: *
iPad Pro: amzn.to/3s49R93
(side note) I really like having my iPad pro in the larger size, but I don't think you NEED it. It's the same size as my favorite paper size to work in, so it just makes sense for me. However, I think the mini or smaller size iPad pro would still have a lot of the benefits of digital drawing. Just make sure you have the right apple pencil for the job!

Guilty as well! That tip on focusing is an epiphany for me! And ps... Please never change your floral mural. I can't take my eyes off it. 😍

It was a real game changer for me too! So glad you like the mural, though I think I will be updating it soon! Still finalizing details (and finding time, hah) but I hope you like the new one just as much 💕

Oh I’m so glad!! I was just telling my husband that I’m itching to paint another insect soon! I think a moth next and then I might move on to another type of bug, hah! Baby steps away from butterflies 😅

I think that we should all lighten up whenever we start learning to use a new medium. We want so much to produce something exceptional and beautiful that it can sometimes almost border on expecting perfection. If instead, we aim at doing a piece of work, then looking at it and taking the parts we don't like and trying to improve on them, maybe by doing smaller studies of that piece, then redoing the piece of work, we should improve. Also, don't compare ourselves to the other artists on here as chances are, they've got a LOT more experience than we do in using a particular medium, whereas we are just beginning to learn it

Can’t get the iPad Pro right now but I know I’m impatient and tend to rush. So focus and slowing down will be my mantra. I’m new to your channel and excited to paint some flowers.

Yes! These “rules” apply to all forms of art-not just the iPad! I am always rushing to get my idea out and want to give up if it doesn’t come out the first time. It takes discipline to slow down!

Thanks for the great advice Katrina. I’m playing around with Procreate at present but have just come across Art Set. I’ve loved painting with water colours for many years now but love the idea of just grabbing my iPad and getting straight into it when the inspiration strikes! I’ve just subscribed to your channel and also like to work on flowers so am looking forward to seeing your work.
