Proud to have followed Popa on tour in France in 2001. Myself and 2 crazy friends took some time off and travelled to France and watched 12 shows in a month. Became friends with the entire touring musicians at that time, cant forget Larry Crockett on drums.....What an adventure 20 years ago!.

Every time I hear him play this through the years, his rendition of this song is the best. His 2011 Rockpalast rendition is my favorite. Such soul, feel and energy , a statement of versatility and out of the box artistry.

I’ve watched this video countless times, I think it’s the best cover of Hey Joe hands down. Watching tonight and staring at that Fender I just realized how much he manipulates tone with that switch. It’s absolutely incredible the tone he gets.

This is a heavily covered song, and Poppa holds his own! I hear a little Jimi, a little Roy Buchanan and a lot of Papa. He is a clean, melodic and structured while being original ! Nice!

I' ve known this musician for more than 15 years - back then he has already been huge in every sense of its word. I have admired his originality. His unique voice paired with his guitar skills. I have to admit I am almost surprised to see him still well and making music almost just like 15 years - only his beard has gotten grey... Which helped to convince me that this was really something most recent...
