Do you hear a "pop" when you toggle the BLX1 off and on? Can you use that toggle like you would a mute button when you want to say something that you do not want to go over the sound system, or will that create a "pop" noise like turning power on and off usually do?

+David Small There is a very slight click when the transmitter turns on, but it isn't very noticeable or disruptive. It isn’t completely silent, but I wouldn’t call it a “pop,” either. There is a short delay after powering on the BLX transmitter before audio passes through the system, so the user will have to wait about a half-second before speaking again. A better option for a push-to-talk / mute switch would be the WA360, which connects between the BLX1 and the lav mic.

Can I plug the xlr out of the receiver into something like a canon xc10 if I had an XLR to 3.5mm adapter?

what is reception range on Blx vs Blx/r please? Can I use it for violin mic? what is that uncommon 4 wholes input connector on the transmitter? Are there transmitters with mini jack input? Which frequency is better to choose among 3 different ranges offered (H, H10, J10)? Thanks!

I have a condenser microphone (EIKON HCS20) that needs 48V phantom power, can I use it with the BLX1 transmitter?

Unfortunately not. The BLX1 does not supply phantom power.

can you hook up 2 mics to the blx4? do I just put both mics to same channel

You can only have one transmitter per receiver. Otherwise, it's like trying to get two radio stations on the same channel. Take a look at the BLX88 - it is a dual channel receiver so you can use 2 transmitters with it.

Can i connect this to my console via xlr? And is this capable for the saxophone?

Yes, the receiver has an XLR output to connect to your mixer. And the BLX14/B98 configuration comes with a clip-on mic perfect for a saxophone.

does this have a mute? I hear the later models do not.

The BLX transmitters do not have a mute switch - just a power switch.

Having issues with this device. It only works when in front of the receiver. The ready light keeps going in and out as you walk away from it.

Antennas plugged in correctly? Also try doing a frequency scan.

how can i take off the battery door on the transmitter myself

There are two buttons on the side that will release the door.
