1:54 I put Hooker Competition Headers on my 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner, the headers literally wrapped *AROUND* the starter motor (& because it was a *Monster* American Muscle Car which used to bring the front wheels right up off the ground on STREET TIRES) I was typically beating the shit out of that car…but it’s just like what Anthony describes…I either had to back that car onto an incline, or use my charm to find the rare female who #1) knew how to operate a manual transmission vehicle, #2) have her be either horny enough to be willing to risk getting inside of pretty much the exact car David Spade’s character has at the beginning of the movie _Tommy Boy_ (except mine was metallic hunter green, David Spade specifically notes his 1968 Plymouth GTX had a _440-Magnum with a 6-Pack_ where as mine had a 383 Big Block Mopar with a 4-Speed & my lady blew stock the rear-end, so the stock Dana 60 rear-gears got thrown out but my ladies dad was a master diesel mechanic, so I talked to him on the phone & he said “Swing by the Parker Garage around 4:30pm, I’ll have something for ya, so I did, and when I got there, he’s welding the frame of a truck back together for the company he worked for, his coveralls caught fire & two other mechanics are like “Stop, Drop & Roll” there’s oil and gasoline all over the place and I’m like “No!! STOP!! i grab a fire extinguisher, and I sprayed his on fire leg with that and he looks up at me, looks at the two other mechanics who were instructing him to roll around in petroleum, and says “thanks buddy” looks up at the two younger mechanics and was like “What the hell is wrong with you two?” And the one younger mechanic on the left asks “what kinda work do you do?” And I explained “I’m in engineering school” so my ladies dad goes “Those are the replacement gears for your rear-end…the final drive will change from 3:54 to 4:11 which could take a little getting used to, so, I’ll tell ya how to swap the gears, and then you go to a real large parking lot to get used to the way the new rear-end is going to behave when you dump the clutch at redline…and I mean you get used to it BEFORE MY DAUGHTER RIDES AROUND IN IT…”
