The great thing about BMPCC cameras is you can set the shutter angle to 180 so if you choose to shoot in different frame rates you won't have to worry about changing your shutter rate!

The Samsung T5, at least with the 1Tb one I use, there is the follow issue: The fuller the SSD gets the longer it takes after camera boot up to be able to write onto the SSD, it gets recognized right away, but for example if there are 500gb data on the SSD it can take up to 2 minutes to until u can start recording

@jordanvp

I’m not sure how a gimbal would connect but I’m assuming it would be through that us USB-C port and I would also assume that DJI and zhiyun would have engineered their gymbals with an extra output for recording to hard drive (I hope lol). I do record direct to an external SSD from that port and it works very well!

Hey Jordan, great stuff as usual. When it comes to false colour, I know caucasian skin tones should be pink with some green, but when it comes to darker scenes where there's a lot of blacks, what colour should I be aiming for, and also scenes with no people in it, such as landscapes, cityscapes etc?

@@jordanvp I too just built by BMPCC 6k took a lot of videos and got what I think is a Run and Gun with DJI RS2 and then the camera slides off of that base plate onto another base plate with rails for a handheld set up as this one. I used the PortKeys BM5 V2. Its all touch screen with menu buttons as well on top. Attached to both rigs is the Nucleus Nano. I bought two so I didn't have to rebalence the RS2. Its that pesky raised RS2 base plate that through the whole build into a tailspin. Not to many videos with the RS2 and handheld combo switch in between scenario. Plenty of videos with the same concept with the DJI RS. They changed the mounting between the two. Nice Video I started off with all your presets until I get better.

I do have a video on my build here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ncCInLB2y9XGmps.html I do know that there is a crop in 4K and 1080 that would eliminate the vignette, but thb I would still shoot in 6K raw and crop in post. I think you'll be much happier doing that over cropping resolution in-camera!

Hi Jordan, I am a beginner, so I am looking for tutz. I really wanted to watch yours but I cann't. I don't know what the problem is. I i know what the problem is, then I could follow. Like this one: The problem is if you loop your v/mount battery power you ould fry your HDMI. Something like this I have heared and I don't want to do that. No solution yet, but at least I know the problem I am not trying to run into. Ok, maybe this tutz is for medium and experts in filming but still, it would lead the video problemoriented and not menu oriented.

I never thought to shoot BM raw with extended video on camera selected and then change it to film if you want to in post. This could give a more accurate monitoring method during shooting than using film and a lut. Thanks.

A good point, since 99 % of us are shooting for video, UHD TV, KZfaq, UHD BlueRay, choosing extended video on camera makes sense to view as a preview LUT during monitoring. Am I right?

@jordanvp
@jordanvp 3 жыл бұрын
Are you editing in premiere? If you go up to the video effects tab when you select the clip in your sequence, you’ll see the general effects controls and to the left of that tab you’ll find the “Master” tab. In there you’ll want change the footage mode to “clip” in the only drop down menu that’s selectable there. This will open up your braw settings and under there somewhere you will see a drop down option to select from film, video or extended video. Of the three I like extended video best, but of course you can always just customize the footage to any level of contrast and saturation you like. All of that is assuming you’re shooting in RAW? Hope this helps!

@jordanvp 3 жыл бұрын
No prob! Tbh I think this is the best camera for the money and ability to customize and expand, as well as excellent resolution which is ahead of standard 4K so it won’t be obsolete any time soon. You can also shoot in “video” or “extended video” directly in-camera if you don’t want to have to deal with coloring in post-production. I’d hang on to the 6k for sure!
@flipnap2112
@flipnap2112 2 жыл бұрын
@@WiredHardware I HIGHLY suggest you read about color profiles, LUTS, grading, etc. This is a professional camera where the bulk of color is intended to be addressed in post. The sensor will handle the color capture. you don't adjust saturation in camera. The new firmware will allow you to use a LUT for approximation though. you would probably be better off with a prosumer camera that has autofocus/balance/shutter for what you're mentioning. if your plan to fix the problem is to throw another 2 or 3k on another camera just hire me instead :)

I’m surprised the camera offers pretty much no ability to tweak the look coming out of camera. No saturation, contrast, black level, etc.
@flipnap2112
@flipnap2112 2 жыл бұрын
it does. you can customize or preload LUTS, but even that is to give you a general idea of the real world final. The entire concept of a pro camera is to give you the flattest profile possible for grading latitude. Most people do the grading in post. committing a color profile in camera is suicide. the same way audio engineers don't print to tape effect pedals, etc. once its there, its there.
@miniatureface
@miniatureface 2 жыл бұрын
@@flipnap2112 yea i get that, but disagree that committing a color profile in camera is suicide. it depends on the project. many professional projects have quick turnarounds and small budgets. there's nothing wrong with trying to get a final look in camera in a studio environment. i also do a lot of livestreaming in a studio, but besides making a very specific lut, there's no way this camera could get an acceptable look straight out of camera that doesn't need color correction. While i totally understand and largely agree with your point, I think the camera's lack of ability to shape the image in camera greatly limits how it can be used.
@flipnap2112
@flipnap2112 2 жыл бұрын
@@miniatureface im pretty sure the 6k can burn LUTS in, Ive just never done it. Clients ALWAYS want changes and thats the reason I bought a cinema camera with flat profiles. And if im doing a run n gun for a friend or quick project I just pick a LUT, show them the sample, and burn out the reel. going for a cup of coffee is shorter than trying to "degrade" a burnt LUT. once its gone its gone
@jordanvp
@jordanvp 2 жыл бұрын
The 6K can burn luts in and I’m on the same page with you Teddy…clients are ALWAYS wanting changes which definitely sucks. On top of that, premiere’s issues with color and contrast on export only compound the need for post-production coloring. I find myself increasing saturation, contrast and even warmth on my WB…Daniel, I agree it would be ideal to be able to shoot exactly how you want and have zero post-production coloring but I’ve yet to come across a client that was ok with the image straight out of the camera. To be fair, usually with my mirrorless I slap a lut on in post and call it good haha.
@miniatureface
@miniatureface 2 жыл бұрын
@@jordanvp I usually color correct as well, but if you get it close and don't need to make drastic changes, log gammas and raw footage is not necessary. and like i said it really just depends on the type of work. I am an audio engineer that records video of music performances with many of the video edits streamed or live switched. 99% of my clients NEVER ask for the coloring to be changed, and are seldom even thinking about it.
