It's an ok comparison but you really should have used the same lens on both cameras. There is a massive difference in sharpness that is most likely caused because of the use of different lenses.

first of all thanks for the comment, yes you're right, but in this video, the most obvious message I wanted to reach the viewer is that if the light is right, the composition is also done well, in the end the type of camera you use is indifferent. the result is always pleasant 😉🙂

Hmm to be honest black magic has a filmic look while GH5 is a video look in my eye :I This coming from a Lumix user.

definitely, even if, by putting on the GH5 suitable lenses plus Filters etc., you will most likely be able to have a Cinelook there too.

@@framestomind7548 Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, I can't say much about the GH5S because I don't own one. But what I can tell you is that the cinema look doesn't depend much on the camera, but more on the lens and much more on how the available light is optimally implemented for the end result. but that's a chapter in itself. ;-) I hope to have helped you further.

They're both digital sensors. You're kidding yourself if you think the main difference is anything but lens choices and colour grading choices. He's got a much wider aperture lens for the BM, but it's less sharp, especially around the edges. And it seems to be shot a lot warmer than the Lumix. Completely pointless comparison if you're not using the same lens, the same exposure, and the same white balance.

@@alexwr but still everyone is here to make a choice between these two cameras, we are not here to look for different lenses... so which camera would you say is best at doing what then? be constructive thanks

if I remember correctly, BM ISO 400 25fps and GH5 ISO 100 25fps, as regards the WB both cameras 5600. the shots were taken at a time where I still had enough light. when I needed light I adjusted the shutter. since it was static footage... I didn't have motion blur problems

In this case having the Sigma 18-35 with the Speedbooster you can also get to 1.8 😉

@@biagiolopresto_films I thought they looked great. But I liked the black magic footage better. Maybe I'm biased. Lol I had both cameras and I sold my gh5 and kept the black magic.

Thanks for your comment, yes, I would keep the BM too, but I'm not selling the GH5 because it means a lot to me, my journey as a Filmmaker all started with it.

@@biagiolopresto_films nice. It can take really nice pictures and videos. I started with the gh2 and years later I got the gh5. I also had 2 g7s. But I only kept the bmpcc4k. I don't think I'll upgrade any time soon though. It's really about how you use it. And it seems like you use your cameras really well. Cheers!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Currently I'm sticking with my BM + GH5... I'm very happy with it... and not much has changed on the market in terms of quality... except that everything has become more expensive. hence BM4K forever ;-)
