The St. Lawrence River/Lake Ontario is by far my favorite smallmouth fishery in the world, but when they moved our event from Waddington down to Clayton, NY it opened up a whole new can of worms. Full of adjustments and wild last minute catches this one is nothing short of awesome!

Make a shirt that has two rods crossed boned, one with a jig hanging on it and the other with a swimbait/dropshot and then have a big largemouth under them with a comment bubble above his head with a ? Mark in it like he has to make his mind up on witch one he wants!! That'd be cool, hard to explain in a comment.. great vid AS ALWAYS!

Every body of water I have ever fished in northern NY has been amazing. My recent trip to lake Bonaparte produced a lot of great bass and some decent sized yellow perch. Missed a couple northerns at the boat. Great lake to fish.

Carl and you are by far my two favourite anglers. Sucked to watch you struggle in the MLF but knew you’d be back on top once you moved back to bass. I’d rather be able to catch the 5 biggest fish then 100 small ones any day of the week.

Watched several of those tournaments during the northern swing where your battling chop, trolling motor prop coming out of water at top of every wave. I would suspect that would get aggravating after a while. Give you credit, doesn’t seem to bother you. Congrats on Champlain, very excited for that series.

It is amazing that 2 wins barely has him inside the top 10... edit... now out of the top 20. I guess winning doesn't really give many more points than a top 10 or even top 20. It does give a lot more prize money though. I bet BMP is near the top is 2020 winnings.

Gotta keep the Kyle stuff in there....lovin it - the snack tour was awesome - BP is my favorite fisherman to watch, but adding in the other folks makes it special. By the way, I like that cow-tie on the bass - ha ha. I am an old college wrestling coach - part of why I liked you in the beginning was that you were clearly a lightweight grinder...loved the grinders. Now your grindin on the bass....perfect t shirt Idea: How about a “heavy hands” bass slap shirt ? You need to pump it up on flowwrestling - interview and gear...

I'll never understand why they have so many fishing tournaments out of the Lisbon beach/Waddington area. If you want to land bass you need to be upriver in Chippewa Bay.

I’ve always heard people say when they catch a thick fish (that thing has shoulders) so I think it would be cool to have like a small mouth body builder that it looks like it’s working out or has some body builder muscles for a tourney shirt

Just depends on the technique! Lighter line and finesse techniques require better drag which you get from spinning tackle.

Have a place on Champlain, you actually fished within eye shot of it most of the time you were busy winning there. We spoke on day 2 or 3. My girls were swimming and i was fishing one of your kinda extra spots. Anyway, should i travel away from my 4+lb smallies out front to get fish the Saint Lawrence/ Ontario? My goal is a 5lber, have weighed a 4.95 and WILL get that 5 this season with the way the bait growing them now but can't help but think i MUST try this river. Help a brother out with your thoughts. :)
