This is just a quick video on how to install OEM BMW Roof Racks on a 2012 BMW 135i. As I mention is the video, these racks will work for the 135i and 335i, as well as one of the 5 series models.
The installation process for these roof racks is pretty straight forward, however, if you have never done it before, I would strongly recommend grabbing a friend to help guide the racks into the slots before tightening. BMW paint is not cheap and neither is the labor to have a scratch or ding fixed.
You'll start by unpacking all the components of the BMW Roof Rack kit, which will come with both racks attached to the mounting towers, protective weather strips to be installed after installation of the roof racks, and a small tool kit which include an allen wrench which will be used for the entire process, and a silver bolt that will be used to clean out the threads on the mounting surface before installation.
Our BMW roof racks were already positioned properly to fit on the 135i, but in case yours are not, there are two bolts on each end of each rack that you may loosen slightly and adjust the actual towers.
The rest of the process as explained in the video is pretty straight forward as I said before. You may be required to cut off some of the weather-strip due to the fact that it will stretch out once its pressed into the rack, we just used a new razor blade and careful cut the extra off.
