well its relative, for a 3 liter NA engine its good in fuel consummption day to day use with daily 60km distances my consumption is around 9-9.5 with 110 km/h

I've had one, same n52 auto albeit in touring body. Much as a manual would be very engaging, I would say the automatic gives a good balance of comfort and sportiness for me. As you see in the video, it will chase redline nicely. Granted, it is not as quick or efficient as the current ZF8, but it was good for its time and will still lock up if you have in sport/manual mode. In drive the controller allows more 'slush' in gentle/medium acceleration in the first few gears, providing excellent smoothness and lovely sound when pulling away. The 0-100 time differences are less than 0.5s between manual and auto anyways.

@@FD-rh6tr so far so good, no big problems so far. Mine is an 07 plate with 118k miles and full service record. Mine has the valve cover gasket changed before I bought it although I had to change the oil filter housing gasket myself as I spotted some oil seepage along the side of the engine. Plenty of videos and DIY guides available. Whilst the n52 is considered to be the more reliable engines, this is relative among the other e90 engines, unlike Japanese cars which can cope with on demand maintenance, these need preventive maintenance. At this point age also plays a major role compared to mileage. Make sure items such as water pump, gearbox fluid, valve cover and oil filter housing gaskets have been changed, especially if the car has reached the 100k miles. Otherwise budget for those. Videos and fittings also suggest budgeting for disa flaps, pcv, starter motor, vanos solenoids as well.

I heard great things about the engine and the auto transmission. I would like to find a good looking E90/E92 with xenons and a full leather interior with sport seats. I'm looking for mileage around 180-250k km. I plan on buying this summer and from what I've seen on mobile.de there isn't a car that would meet all my expectations plus my budget around 8 or 9 thousand euros. Hopefully there's gonna be one very when the time comes!

@@pastorgains999 Mine is a standard 'SE' model (UK) without the M Sport suspension and bumpers. To be honest I find the normal seats supportive enough, and for UK roads the M Sport suspension in my opinion is too firm, especially when you add run flats tyres and 18 inch rims. I intend to swap my 17 inch run flats on my 330i to normal all seasons when they are worn, this will improve comfort and I prefer an element of wet/cold weather handling especially given RWD. Xenons are nice but for a car of its age, they can throw am expensive bill if they break. I personally prefer the simplicity of my 330i SE. No xenons or idrive etc. Just leather heated front seats, panoramic roof and front/rear parking sensors.

I have an F30 320i XDrive and although not the same car, doing 100mph (161kmh) feels like it does 60mph (100kmh). Extremely stable at high speeds and even 130mph felt fine

I just did 6.6 L/100km on my E90 325i (LCI) with N52B25BF engine. The Valvetronic motor is malfunctioning sometimes, though. Still be able to have a range of 910+ km and fuel consumption mentioned

@@Qu3tzio Truth is, you really have to let the car cruises itself or you may have to precisely control your right foot. But, back to reality, I did covered 600+km with 3/4 of the fuel after filled up. It’s actually very efficient

@@f00kinglasrsights89 That's actually amazing, n52b25 and b30 should be about same consumption, because 3.0L has a more sophisticated, 3 way air intake system, and it uses DISA Valves (unsure if they were used in 2.5), anyway official numbers also look quite similar

Pretty great i have one but you really have to keep on top of the maintenance, specifically if its got more rhan 120k kms make sure its had a water pump, thermostat and coolant expansion tank replaced as i had all 3 fail roughly around the same time and its very common with the n52 in this car. Also check for valve cover gasket’s and that the transmission fluids had a flush as bmw dont as its “lifetime fluid”. The starter motor is also prone to fail so make sure it starting strong or its about 700$ aud for a new one as i found out 😆

Freedom units here, but I get 32ish mpg at highway speeds 70-75 mph. City I get 20ish depending on how I drive. It will drink fuel if you put your foot into it, no doubt about it.

I drove 1200 miles round trip to get a rwd manual.. and I would have driven further if necessary.

It has drive sport mode and manual mode, and in manual mode if you dont shift it or shift it in time it redlines for a second and then shifts for you anyway.

The m5 feels just as fast as the 328

No it isn’t, it is the N52 version with 258HP.

N53 is in the lci e90 , this one is obvious pre lci version so its n52 258hp. Better engine of the two

@@Deyan741 n53 is the black cover engine , while n52 is a grey one. In e90 i am sure that n53 is put only in the lci versions. By the word "better" i do not mean that n53 is a worse choise , after all it is the same engine just with a direct ingection , and some little nore diferences , actually n53 has better fuel consumption. They both put all most the same power , n52 is just has some advantages in terms of reliability. Great choise bro , i have one as well.

@@oberstjordan156 Dafür macht er aber auch mehr Probleme. Vor allem die Injektoren. Der N52 hat einfach garnichts. Der will sein frisches Öl und ab und an Mal ein Anbauteil wie ne neue Wasserpumpe. Aber ansonsten läuft das Teil sicherlich 300tkm ohne irgendwas am Motor zu haben. Aber du hast Recht. Der N53 macht ein bisschen mehr Laune.

Den n52 gab es kurzzeitig auch mit 272 ps... 2006-2007 im coupe glaub ich

Depends on your style. When you drive a bit faster then normal it’s about 8L/100km. That at least what my e91 330i is doing 😉
