I'd say Fineline Ridge is a pretty classy wood trim! If I were to buy a 5-series, I'd definitely go for it.

Great car, astonishing performance and versatility now that it has the electric motor. I own a 2017 540i Xdrive and love the car to bits, that 6 cylinder engine is just so smooth and powerful it's just mesmerizing. Thinking in couple of years to get the 545e Xdrive which will help in London with all its restrictions and awful traffic. Keep it coming guys, always love your videos!

Thanks for this, it inspired me to buy one and it’s a fabulous car. I’ve had six 5 series, including three M5s and it has excellent performance and surprising economy. Make sure you get one with all of the packs and the pano sunroof to get the full experience. I love mine.

Happy to see they went for the 6-inline. Because the four cylinder 530e has an absolutely terrible drivetrain. I absolutely hated to drive it since it feels that sluggish and irresponsive.

I've been driving a few different BMW's over the last 10 years. Generally impressed with them. This model impresses me more and I am very interested. The only thing that keeps me up at night is that it is a newer model and longevity has not been proven. With the complexity of the engine and drive train, only BMW will be the only ones who can work on this car. You will be at their mercy as far as the cost and amount of repairs. Once the warranty period expires, I see the used price of these cars dropping like rocks. If BMW wants to sell a ton of these, simply increase the warranty from 4 years to 6-10 years on electrical and mechanical issues. I would not hesitate to buy one if that were the case. Even if they had to raise the MSRP a few thousand dollars, it would be worth it.

Oh yes, I love that Tanzanite Blue Individual paint. Definitely a PHEV that would appeal to me. I know the B58 engine can easily be remapped or tuned for more power & torque, but wouldn't it be cool if you could do the same with the electric motor? LOL!

It'd be nice if you guys could take the 530e for a test as well since the US market only gets the smaller 4 cylinder! Great review as always!

Loving my 545e. Picked it up in January. Aventurine Red III with ivory white nappa leather and piano black interior. Unfortunately no autobahn here in Ireland but we do have cops on every ramp on motorways waiting to catch you go over the limit of 120kmh.

Only 285bhp for the B58? the current M340i/M440i have 100bhp more than that with the same engine... how easy would it be to tune it back up to that spec? I assume very easy as its probably all ECU

Nice spec! Would be a nice replacement for my current 530d. One remark, when talking about the battery-pack, you specify the capacity in kW, that should be kWh. (Otherwise, it’s like as if you are saying the gas tank can contain 50 horsepower of fuel.)

Damn,0-100 in 4.4 is mad for such a big car, i thought it wud for sure be slower than a f30 stage 1 330e that does it in 4.9 , this thing cud possibly go sub 4 seconds with ease on a stage 1 tune

I have the same interior as this but with the ivory leather on my 520d M sport Lovely car, but spoiled by a steering lacking in feedback, and noisy run flat tyres. Similar refinement to the F10, but a lot less wind noise around the A pillars. Had a 525d F10 previously, a E60 520d before that, a E39 520i and a E34 520i which was my first venture into BMW ownership. The E60 was by far the most stable at high speed, 145mph + and had the best steering feel. The E39 was the most refined, especially with regards to road noise, much quieter than the later cars. The G30 suffers from the same vibration through the floor and seat base at 110 to 130kph as the F10. Two F10's my brother had, had the same issue. The forums never came to a conclusion as to what was causing it, and the strange thing is, in the G30 you can only feel it in the drivers seat. On the passenger side it's not obvious at all. Weird, I'll keep it for another few years anyway, see what the new one is like when it arrives next year.

I rather want the X5 45e, because of the smaller tank in the 5-series. The X5 has a 70L tank if I’m not mistaken. The only downside is the mass/weight of the X5.
