Have a 630i, its now 17 years old ! 145000 miles. Still feels taut and fresh. I still love the styling. Of course there are areas where its dated compared to modern cars but its still a high quality motor.

Bought used ‘08 E64 51,000 miles in 2019. Bought from Good older owner who took care of it. I probably take care of it more. Paid only $14k. Best used car I’ve ever owned

I’m looking at buying a 2008 630i - what should I look out for and what downside ought I budget for?
@woooster173 жыл бұрын
@@owenchapman971 Tbh, make sure it has decent service history.. I bought mine at 71k miles with full main dealer history, and I’m now on 82k miles. The first thing I did was have the auto gearbox oil changed. BMW state it’s ‘sealed for life’ but its good to change it. The g/box sump is plastic and mine was weeping, so I had that replaced at the same time. The only issues I have had with mine have been a single rear wheel bearing needed replacing, and the battery needed replacing..which needs coding when fitted. Mine is getting close to probably needed the obligatory thermostat and water pump replacement. But as yet, no issues. One thing to check fairly quickly is the drain channels in the inner wings as these get clogged with leaf mulch. There are also drainage channels beneath the windscreen/pollen filters.. these can fill with water like small fish ponds, and if left can allow water into the cabin. The drivers side was blocked on mine and had 3” water sloshing around.. I removed the rubber grommet at the base and left it out. Mine is an ‘06 with the silver top N52 straight 6.. an ‘08 will have the bit more powerful N53 black top which is basically the same, but I believe it may have some slightly different ‘potential’ issues to the N52. I have just had to replace all 4 tyres, which at £900 for Bridgestone tyres wasn’t cheap! But decent tyres on big staggered alloys never are.. They were expensive cars new, so running on shoestring is a false economy.. so just ensure everything works as it should. I still love mine, it does everything I need...without having the big bill issues the ‘leaky’ V8 can have. They’re getting rare now too.. it’s unusual to see another on the road. Oh, check all the LEDs light up with the rear lights.. I had one line n/s that wasn’t working when I bought it (didn’t notice), and the whole lens needed replacing as it can’t be repaired (as far as I know). Not particular cheap. You ‘might’ get the occasional ‘lifter tick’ noise when starting from cold... it’s normal for these engines, doesn’t do any harm..and goes away once warmed up. 👍🏼
