Indeed, unlike Brabus, which just brutally murders the characters of cars while making them uselessly overpowered. (At least that's how I see them, but obv people buy Brabus cars so there's a market for them)

@@daftbence There’s different types of brabus cars. Some are very tame and just like this alpina have a small power boost while having a more comfortable ride and nicer interior. Then of course there are also the crazy cars with stupid amounts of power

Wish BMW would bring back those conventional dials for the speedo & tacho. What an impressive car this is. 250 kmh with the suspension in Comfort Plus setting - that is hugely impressive!

@@alan1pinon actually I'm looking into buying an M340i Touring and if there was an option for conventional dials I'd prefer it. It's the same for so many things I'm forced to buy like lane assistent an such things. For me it's more about great engine, suspension, brakes and other performance things when I'm into buying a car. But in this case I often thought I was born one generation late (I'm 27).

I mean do not get me wrong, I personally preffer not even the LCD cluster with analog design, I straight up preffer the 2018 1 and 2 series analog cluster. But nowadays most of the people its all about the tech (Just look at newest Mercedes) the market its somehow going that way, to everything digital and autonomous systems and electrified or hybrid motors and all of that new tech stuff. While there is more important things to care when you are buying a new car, such as the things that Watcher1867 guy did mention; specially when you are looking for a fun car. I am not into tech stuff, i just said that sadly we will see the car industry become in something more "intelligent" technologically speaking, and less mechanic and less analog things, there would be less interaction between human-machine. Our kids will be "driving" soulless things like we car guys love to, and the cluster would be the last thing to worry about... If it was up to me I would rather get an old z3 m coupe than any of the modern M cars, even if they are freaking fast such as the M8 competition, but I don´t know man, I was on another conversation i think lol.

Guyes im with you on the simplicity of the analogue custer. One quick glance and you read everything. But they also messed up the steering feel with the G30 and G50. F10 has good feed back and balance. Also its mostly German quality, new gen G30 & G50 feels Chinese. Im gonna look for a decent F10 with low miles and full service history. Why spend 80k plus on the G50 when the F10 is better to drive and they are in the 25 to 35k price range.

Some mistakes, it’s a pre-facelift. Comfort Plus is available on all f10/f11 with the adaptive deive option. i have it on my F11 lci 530d. Lovely car, not as fast, but it still reaches 250kmh (I have the M Performance power kit, 286hp/600nm. Yet it still does 6,5ltr./100kmh when driving 120kmh on the highway.

Not a LCI and Comfort Plus was available for the normal 5 Series. It was the option Adaptive dampers or Adaptive Drive.

I had confort plus in my 535d xdrive . This function is when you have adaptive dampers and adaptive hydraulic torsion bars…. And airsuspension in the rear….. and rear steering weels. All of that options make confort PLUS in f10. Cheers

Alpina is recognized by the German Ministry of Transport as an automobile manufacturer, in contrast to other performance specialists, which are aftermarket tuners. So its actually not a BMW, its a Alpina. I'm not sure exactly, but I think the Alpina even has a different VIN number than the BMW. So it's safe to say it's a completely independent company although it uses bmw models as a base (like MANSORY for example, they definitely have a different VIN number than Mercedes) Max just talks about this Alpina as if it were just a 5 series BMW with tuning, but in fact the Alpina is about something else entirely.

My 535d has VDC dampers so its got comfort + and its excellent. Although my understanding is the Alpina version is set up softer for comfort + and stiffer for sport +

@@robertferwagner3051 I'm aware about the weight difference and the 2 extra cylinders of the SQ7 compared to the tuned F10 Alpina D5. What I mean is that both cars having the same torque figures which means that they are both torquey cars from two completely different segments.

Beyond some speed, the HP to surpass more 10kmh, are more than normal. You have the air resistance and the weight to move. Only with more 75hp, you won't be able to surpass the 300kmh barrier.

It is not a “sleeper” 🙄 With this you take the family and the dogs to your holiday home. Mercedes told that their wealthiest customers buys E-Class. That is why everyone has the models that can travel long distances fast and effortlessly plus take your dogs with you. You don’t sleep in it. You sleep in a hotel if necessary.

@@verttikoo2052 sleeper is slang for understated, unassuming, tame looking, flies under the radar, doesn't draw attention, subdued exterior styling... I'm saying this 5 looks less aggressive than other generations, which was a disappointment to me initially, but then I grew to like it a lot because it looks more refined than other generations. Especially with that massive front end

awesome car, but what I'm starting to think over the time: do you really need this kind of power? I mean it's pretty expensive fuel and has nothing to do with economy. It's all fun and I love fast and loud cars, but nowadays, where can you drive that fast on the Autobahn? I mean just watching every POV review shows it -> max. 10-20 seconds on high speed and you need to brake. It is so much more efficient (safety- and fuelwise) to drive 180-200kph than having a car than can do 300kph. Just my opinion, but I love this car anyway
