Justin Buice Hey bud how are you and i have questions i want to change my bmw 325i e90 2006 Differential fluid which is 75W-90 but if u may know how much Quarts does e90 take 1 or 2 Quartz and also the Main bolts holding the diff face what are the FT pound Torque ? You should put the oil filter into the cap and push down until it clicks and has a little play. Not put the filter in the housing first. Other than that great video. I enjoy your vids.

you should always use a torque wrench to tighten oil filter housing cap and drain plug. also make sure whatever oil you are using matches BMW REQUIREMENT SPECS. Like LONG LIFE 1 (LLO1) make sure that you are safe and the way you have raised your car is safe.

No he's right, petroleum isn't good and absorbs into your skin. Any issues wouldn't arise until you're much older. Brake dust is the worst though and I would wear a mask or resp while doing brakes. Now I've done thousands of changes without gloves as a mechanic but honestly it's much better to use nitritle gloves mostly to keep your hands clean for when you need to touch things you don't want to dirty. The protection is just a bonus.

Great Video! Like you, I always take pride in servicing my own cars, which includes brakes, oil, cv joints, tran fluid, etc. For Safety and body mechanics, purchase a better jack and a oil drain pain (most separate the plug from the oil). You should also install the filter on the base once you install the gaskets, then install it. Purchase the oil filter tool to remove and install the oil filter. Oil Filter housing screw and oil pan plug should also be torqued to required specs with a torque wrench. My 2017 M3 is still under included Ultimate Service Warranty, but I will service it once it expires.

love your videos, if you cant tell from the mass commenting I've done today. I had a similar jack but when I bought this car it was lowered and I couldn't get under it with it. I upgraded to a much larger, low-pro jack. It was about $200 CAD. And well worth it. It's easier to operate due to a larger pad and better leverage from a longer handle. I feel safer working around my car. FWIW oil changes are the one thing I don't mind paying for. It's messy and tedious. And historically I don't feel like I saved all that much money versus the effort (getting parts, disposing of oil, etc). And it only has to be done once a year based on how little distance I drive.

Great video! Make sure that when you put the oil cap on you don't over torque it because it could cause the cartridge in the center to snap off! If you have an N54 or N52 don't worry about it and stick it back on, but a few models it can not reattach. I made a video about this issue because a lot of people don't know the problems it can cause.

@tehxdonjuan8 жыл бұрын
That motor takes 6.5 Liters, so you'd be okay using 6 quarts of oil. Also you can buy an oil filter socket on amazon for about $20. That's where I got mine and that's the one I use in the shop.

I'm 15 now and saving for a car I want an e90 or e93 (328xi). My parents said insurance would be outrageous, I got an online quote for $161 per month for me when I'm able to get my license. (Not bad for a first driver.) And then they claimed oil changes/maintenance would also be expensive and impossible to do I said they wouldn't, but of course as parents are they didn't believe me. I said all you have to do is get the car above the ground and it's the same as any other car other than the filter and oil. My dad is very mechanically inclined and can fix about anything, hes owned multiple BMW's now an M4 which I'm in love with lol. Maybe they just dont want me driving a car capable of 155 on the highway. My dad agreed to match what I save (So I can learn the value of money, which I'm perfectly fine with b/c I will never have that chance again since you dont get cars half-off) , I'm trying to stay below $10k combined meaning I would save a little over $5k. The other option is a Kia Cadenza the insurance cost is $183 per month and a Ford Focus $797 per month(I'm sure the site glitched haha, I did it again and it said the same), the BMW would probably be more than both with premium gasoline unless the Focus is actually $797 per month🤣. Any thoughts? Am I being reasonable or not? I'm thinking the Focus is probably the best for a first car but I do like the Cadenza alot. Sorry if this was to long lol.

Great job! But to hints 1) I like to put a rag next to the funnel that way when I remove it the oil cause right on the phone and not on the engine. Hint #2 leave the oil cap open before removing the oil plug go make the oil flow a lot easier and hold on to the plug Don't Let It Drop into the oil pan next time..lol
@carlfxy7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video, looks very nice, but I don't understand, you cut the o-ring from the correct location in the cover cap, but then you locate the new o-ring in the wrong location, up against the lip of the cover cap, not the groove then you screw the cap on leaving the o-ring visible [@3:36]. I know you haven't done this with all your oil changes, as it was in the right location when you removed the cap in the first place, and you're clearly not a newb yourself, so could you please update this video, so other beamer newbs dont screw it up.
