Here is how simple it is to connect and test a BMW Drive-By-Wire throttle pedal to any ECU. Don't stress it its just like wiring 2x throttle position sensors. Thanks for watching:)

Thanks for info. My pedal (e70 x5) only reads up to 35% and stops increasing after 1/4 throttle. Does the pedal need replacing or is this a calibration issue?

the first thing that comes to my mind is why there are two potentiometers? maybe bmw did this to increase reliability and consistency in readings?

Redundancy because if the pedal fails it could be life or death for a DBW car

OBD fault codes say APPS signal 1 and signal 2. Does that mean my APPS is shot? I've soldered a different connector to eliminate potential wiring issues but the codes remain. What's your recommendation?

thank you for the video. I have an s54 in my e36 chassis track car and am looking to put in a new pedal. From what I have found they should all work the same but the later model pedals come with metal brackets that will work better for my needs. From what I see here I should be able to use a pedal from a later model car, correct?

The pedal I bought is from an f30 and it uses a plastic bracket. All the E46/90 ones I have seen are plastic too. I'm not sure what ones come with metal brackets but all of the plastic brackets bolt to the metal in the car so it's all about the same imo

Hi I'm installing an extra pedal so the car can be driven with left foot too for disability purposes so I'm buying an extra original spare pedal with some wiring so i will install parallel wire Question is I'm thinking of using an on on DPDT switch on the dashboard would be okay to use the switch for the two ground wires or should i use for the two positive signal to switch between left or right pedal in use obviously while ignition off

Im not sure if it would cause any problems with the switch in the circuit but it seems like it would work. Worth a try imo

So their are two pairs of potentiometers for redundancy? But technically I could read position with only 1 correct?

Hi, Sorry for my bad inglesh, but i and making turbo e46 with Speeduino, but my trottle is eletronic. you put direct your gas pedal in Speeduino? And how you control throttle?

In this demonstration I use the speeduino to show that the electronic throttle pedal is functionally the same as a throttle position sensor. The speeduino I have doesn't support drive by wire

I am just using the Speeduino to test the potentiometers of the DBW pedal. The pedal is essentially 2 throttle position sensors internally.

hello, I am doing a 330i swap but I have come to a problem that the wiring is slightly different than the 323i and the 323i has a mechanical throttle body and the 330i does not, is there something to make the wiring work and the electrical make the throttle body mechanical?

I had accidentally cut of my accelerator from my e90 328i, do you think I can simply solder the wires back together or would have to calibrate thr throttle?

You should be able to just connect them with crimps or solder and it will work fine
