I remember visiting friends in Pretoria in around 85. He was BMW's only certified M1 engine mechanic there. He brought home a purple 745 one day I was there. Same white leather interior. Wonder if it was this actual, truly magnificent, car.

Wow. Being a 745i makes this a very rare BMW to start with. But, a 745i with the factory M88 engine is Holy Grail stuff! It was only available in a 745i built specifically for the South African market and it makes this an EXTREMELY rare BMW. Wow. The M badge on the trunk is incorrect, but the car is amazing nonetheless!

The paint is similar to Steve Harrington's BMW in Stranger Things, but his BMW is a 733i, not a 745i M.
