BMW E34 & E32 Seat Twist Fix

This is an in-depth guide on how to fix the notorious seat twist that all electrically powered BMW E34 and E32 front seats eventually suffer from. This guide applies to all model years of both chassis as long as the seats are electric.

this is great for us e39 owners too. no one explained the cable inside the housing like you did. now it makes a lot more sense.

Great video 👍 Just bought a 1990 750iL with the back rest twist. Got it straight enough to drive by assisting the seat through a full back and forward motion. Definitely doing both seats when I get home in a day's time 👌

Thanks so much for posting this. I'm following along and fixing all my twists! One thing though is that I've got the front part of the seat, up and down adjustment, that is twisting. It doesn't look like a cable drive exists for that motor ( on the side of the seat) Is there a fix for that or I need to just get a new motor? Thanks!

Can you make a video on replacing the heating elements for the seat as well? my bottom element went out and not too sure how to go about it yet. would like to take apart least as possible with it now becoming winter over here in Washington state.

no one has done a video on replacing the cables. There are 10s of examples of cutting the cable housing. I can't figure out how to change the entire cable.

@@francispowell1811 *Can* you download a BMW workshop manual on it? Or, look at the cable and housing assembly and work out how to remove it?

@@francispowell1811 if you bought new assemblies from BMW, ask them for a copy of the pages from their workshop manual to do it.
