Having read so much about the E39 M5 I wanted to experience what has been said to be the ultimate drivers car and possibly the best M car ever made. I was given the keys to this stunning M5 and wanted to share the experience of what this iconic BMW is like with a stunning V8, timeless looks and limited driving aids it was going to be an amazing day.

I have an e92 m3, e46 m3, z4m roadster, and e39 m5 with Dinan S2 package. it’s hard to describe how great this car is with the 3.45 differential, Dinan throttle bodies and manifold, etc. the e39 has rapidly turned into my favorite car I’ve owned and among my fleet that’s no small task. This car does everything so bloody well. It is a hero car that lives up to the hype and does not disappoint when you finally meet your hero.

A wonderful car! I remember my dad drifting his ACS m5 around Uckfield, back in the early 00s lol. My dad still regrets selling his.

I've just purchased an E39 M5, I also have an Evo from the same era and as a driving experience the M5 is nowhere near as much fun, I'd definitely recommend driving one. However I can drive the M5 for hours, get where I'm going quickly and arrive feeling like I've only just got in the car, which is where this car really shines

@@DamoDrives I think the tech makes cars worse. Especially the screens. Physical gauges and button are so much nicer than a slow, unresponsive screen that will be outdated and break on a couple of years

Certainly more practical but you cannot better the looks and the driving feel of the E39

Always loved these cars and in that blue they look perfect. My mate bought one last month and I’ve finally had the chance to drive one. Cool cars , I’m not sure I’d spend the cash on one and have it as my only weekend car but if I could afford to daily one I would

I thought the ride quality was exceptional and easily as good as a modern BMW if not better. It’s not as aggressive as modern M cars which is actually quite refreshing.

I recently acquired an E39 M5 and it’s blown me away. Such an accomplished car. I am lucky enough to to also have an E30 M3 but I’ve been using this one more.

I have and e46 M3 Vert and an 02 M5, this is my 5th M5 of that genre, had the E60, but E39 by far the best handling and fun....she will never be sold lol...!!!

I have an android upgrade in my E39 nothing to expensive there is no need they all do same thing regardless of price have a look on Amazon mine was £200

triumph TR5/6 & 2500 PI have individual throttle bodies. They're a pig to set up !

I never knew that , I can only imagine how difficult it is to setup them up and I would guess even if 1 is out it makes the car feel very different

@@DamoDrives They always have a lumpy idle. The throttle bodies are all controlled by linkages but they wear over time and so rattle about.

Yeah dad had a pi back in 70s nightmare to tune but wat a car of it's times that's why cops had them
