Chasing the BMW 3-Series with the Subaru WRX, we get beautiful POV footage of a touge attack. We also get a near crash encounter at the end of the video
The E46 330i commonly seen on the Nurburgring is not an M3 but our guest driver gives a taste of what a German performance saloon or sedan may do. With a track or drift build, the E46 may want a stiffer setup. On the touge and canyon run, the dampers on this 3-series look set up for the street

@@TheMusta18 RWD are pretty light. 3300 lbs. with some slight weight reduction you’re good

Look at the center divide and what was on it before the right turn approaches where the slight oversteer occurred

@@John-yq9qx It doesn't matter if it's a mix of shitty all season tires, running over a dusty spot and lifting off at the same time. It's not divine intervention. But I wasn't even sweating the BMW driver for his mistake, he managed to keep it on the black stuff. My point was that he admitted the Subaru was faster, which is a mindset that will allow him to improve as a driver.

Highway Dash I see what your saying but I'm not sure about the lift off off part. the rpms were high wouldn't it just push it farther to oversteer and spin out fully. Probably just have to take the turn slower.

It's always good to learn a lesson without having to pay for it. This is one of those times and the e46 driver seemed very grateful for that.

Curious to see this if you stayed in your lane the whole time. Always.... One lane. Not for safety, because skill. Like the video man. I have a similar one called Woodside Rd. In a c5zo6. I now have a 2003 330i on MCS coilovers with bushings and sways. Great chassis

hey Ridge, could you tell me how you mounted the camera in the e46? i've been trying to get a cameraview like yours with my second camera but it just doesnt work out.

I used a suction cup mount with an extended arm, using the glass sunroof. Hope this helps!

The driver of the WRX chase car in this video has been to track. Universal Healthcare from the other WRX video has. "Demon of the Downhill" has been to the Nurburgring, and Speed Saint does competitive karting. I'm not sure about the E46 driver since I didn't ask. I have been to a track to help a team with driver training, but can't afford to drive on one myself. A common theme in the touge community is being too poor to afford a track day, let alone making a car pass spec. Hope this answers the question!
