Hey guys, in this video we will demonstrated how to diagnose abs brake light and traction control light on BMW e46. We had the brake and traction light on on this 2005 BMW 330ci e46. The car had some front end work done to it and the steering angle sensor needed to be calibrated / matched. Check out what tool we used and if we successfully turned the brake and traction control lights off.

My dsc button doesn't do anything when I push it. I have no traction at all. Would a faulty abs sensor cause my button not to work before I did deeper? Maybe the wiring to the dsc button?

@@jamieholden8187 been a while since I’ve sold my e46, but I will say I remember what I did. I got a multi point inspection done at the dealer and they gave me everything wrong w my car. Steering angle sensor and wheel speed sensors were bad. They fixed my issue after replacement but the steering angle sensor was a pain to do bc it needs calibrated

Wish mine were that easy, I got those lights that came on while driving tonight and the car dropped off like it was going to shutoff, but then popped right back. The lights stayed on till turning the car off and turning it back on. The RPM’s also bounce sometimes while driving. It does it when the car is cold and with cold weather. What’s your input on this? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. My camshaft position sensors are both change and as well my crankshaft position sensor. My intake boots are new and my vanos is rebuilt. There’s more to add, but just giving you an idea.

Idle control motor may need to be cleaned, or the Dissa (something like that) replaced, it's next to the idle control motor on non M cars. Air intake sensor may need cleaned or replaced. But this is a year old, so hopefully you got it fixed already.

@Chimill Rimbert Hard to tell what the problem might be. I haven't figured out my own car yet. Mine acts better when I clean my Air intake sensor. I still need to clean my idle control valve so that hopefully the idles will quit dipping. Might also be a rubber hose coming off the intake manifold that has deteriorated.

hello there guys.!! I want to see if maybe you can help me figure out what's wrong with my 2001 bmw 330ci... its been having this issue since I bought it last November 2019..the problem is the following: when driving the car my DSC LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT ALWAYS COME ON and when they do the car starts making this noise from the front left driver tire and then you can feel like the tire braking or as if something is getting stuck..as that happens the lights on dashboard start to flicker for few secs as it recognizes there's something wrong and then stay on until car is stopped and parked.. in one occasion it even make my front left tire get completely locked to where it burned tire (because I was driving it of course lol)... I can't seem to find what's the issue , I've already replaced the brake rotors with pads, also abs/speedometer sensor, and still no success... Ive tried taking it to a shop (not euro car emphasized) and they suggested the abs sensor that's why I replaced as well, but nothing... DO YOU KNOW WHAT CAN POSSIBLY BE WRONG WITH MY BEEMER..? PLEASE HELP!!

Ay man I might have an idea. Each wheel has its own sensor and the sensors plug into the hubs. Inside the hubs there’s a ring that slides along the sensors. With all you've done to it, it's probably the ABS pump/module that needs replacing. I'd pull from a junkyard, but I think you'll need a computer program to let the car recognize the new module. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. There's also a company that advertises on youtube that rebuilds ABS modules for BMW, so you wouldn't have to get the car to recognize a new one.

By dsc light has been stuck on forever and the button won’t do anything and I’ve heard it can keep your car from accelerating properly. My car’s alignment is off, could that be causing the dsc light to stay on?
