Coding the alarm is pretty easy. You need a OBD2 to USB kit and the BMW Scanner 1.4 software on your (XP!) laptop. This will allow you to setup multiple options including enabling the alarm but you can also make your cars signal lights flash when lock and unlock ..and beep or no beep when locking etc. you can also read codes with this kit and make other adjustments.

Heey, was watching your video and have some information for you. In the back of your car close to the battery you mentioned a green wire, "if you pull it nothing happens". Here is what it's for: If you close the car, the fuel cap door locks... IF for any reason, this lock keeps locked after opening your car and you NOT being able to fill it up with gas... pull the green wire, it's a backup ;).

Id say its quite because of where the siren is mounted is best to mount it so it points out side the car or towards the ground.

but i think this video is very impressive well done.

Great video! Now I want to install this on my e46. Just got to buy the parts and take it to the dealer to be coded. Taking it to the dealer is the part I dread most.

You can use NCS Expert and NCS Dummy to code the alarm system

I’ve always had flashing lights but no beep. I ran into an e46 yesterday with the horn, tilt, and motion sensor at the junk yard. Got all the parts for $20. Installed the horn and it’s now beeping, i was surprised that it did without programming. Tilt and motion don’t seem to be working so I’m guessing those will need coding.

Anyone else not have the plastic thread piece that the siren screw mounts to? Or just me?

How would this work with a convertible 325ci? And how much would you say you spent on each part of the alarm?

Hi guys, thanks for the video. I followed the tutorial step by step but I can't get the siren or the warning lights to go off, I know the interior sensor works because I wave my hand in the cabin and the clown nose blinks fast but I can't get my siren or warning lights to work. I already had the corners programmed to flash when I lock/ unlock the car but that's it. I'm using P.A. Soft for the coding. If you have any idea of what can be wrong I'm more than thankful!

Did you make any modifications to the firewall? I heard that the fact that the firewall covers up the siren under the hood it silences the sound a bit. I bought an alarm and the lock/unlock chirping sound seems rather quiet. I heard that there are two variations of the alarm and I feel like I have the quieter one

My lock/unlock stopped working. I assumed that it was my key so I bought a new master key but then the dealership found out the problem. They said I needed a new sensor module, do I need to buy the whole kit or can I just replace the module that goes on the roof top. Please reply asap

I have the “pre wired for bmw security” thing on the trunk, but when pulling off the motion thing on the headliner it revealed no wire. is it just hidden?

I'm missing the piece that is on the firewall that is in the hole that the screw for the siren goes in. There is just an empty space where threads should be. Anyone have that part number?
