Great news, did you buy a new one? or did someone fix your module? glad your result were good:)

DIYsavecash I bought a new module from Ebay by the seller "euroasiaparts" and it was $476 free shipping, to swap it out all i did was disconnect the battery, take out two screws holding the coolant tank in place, and to pull it out all you do is lift it up and there's a coolant sensor to remove by twisting off, then i set it aside on top of the engine bay, pop the clip holding the 30 pin connector in place with a flathead, remove the 6 torx screws holding the module in place, replace with the new one, put everything back together then reconnect the battery everything works perfectly fine...i have a little write up on bimmerfest just search "genc50"

DIYsavecash Usually your supposed to recode the abs module at a dealer or indy but I think i didn't need recoding because I removed the battery so when the new module went in, the DME recoded the module for me (y)

After doing some research folks are on the fence about AGM battery's some folks say only get AGM battery's and others say Walmart type battery's are fine as long as the cold cranking amps etc are the same, and it looks the same with the same size, to be honest I'm going to buy a walmart battery and give it a try, if you plan to keep your car for 10 years you might want to buy a AGM battery, there probably longer lasting. I'll make a video when I buy one.

DIYsavecash The charging system may over charge a lead acid battery the charging sequence for AGM is different than lead acid, keep a close eye on the water level.. it will boil off. The alternator is 180 amps, thats huge for a car most are around 100 amps. Smart charging systems (pretty sure the E65 has one) have a millivolt shunt to measure the amount of charge going into and out of a battery to keep the charge level at a maximum.

Pawel Mosakowski in my case it's the ABS module which is causing those 3 yellow lights to come on. I'm going to send mine away to get repaired by a pro, they are very complex to fix I wouldn't recommend it, this way you'll repair your same module and then put it back in so you don't have to re-program your car to a new module. I'm hopefully making a video of this soon.

Pawel Mosakowski i dont recommend buying a new one because they are all rebuilt its better getting one from the junk yard thats what i did. any other issue with this car i can inform you whats the problem and how to fix it

How you getting on now 3 weeks later? When you say indie replaced voltage regulator ... Do you mean the Power Control Module in the boot under the fuses? I have similar problem that two garages have failed to fix.... Previous owner must have had a problem, put a Lion battery (lead Acid) in. He obviously never registered the new battery and a few months down the line it is so confusing as to what is at fault.... Alternator? - pronounced good. PCM? - replaced. Battery - changed for BMW AGM and registered. But it died on me 3 days out of the indy. So is it not charging? Or still not getting to the battery or is there some module draining the battery when I park it? OH problems problems.

Robert Walton-Sharp By Voltage Regulator i meant the one that contains the 2 carbon bushes touching the alternator copper rings. The VR is replaceable and is found directly on top of the alternator held by 3 nuts/bolts. BTW all good untill now..getting 3.9x v at idle at no load. With load 3.7x. Also i never registered my cheap KOREAN battery that i installed before 365+ days.🤓

Glad to hear you're sorted. Mine is an 06 E66 so must have AGM that must be registered, has a PCU but no IBS. It drove out of the repair shop on the new AGM but it can't have been charging while I drove as it died. I tried charging via jump terminals under the hood but after 40 hours CTEK MXS5.0 hadn't been able to push past stage 3 (bulk to 80%) [The charger is fine as the day before it had charged 07 e61 which had been left in sub-zero with the charger stuck for a month in the boot of the e66 in the repair shop]. Now, I have disconnected the AGM and after 4 hours it's into stage 4 absorption. Progress! So, I am suspecting there is still something wrong with the PCU 9 132 581. I will check the on-charge voltage when it gets to 100% and when taken off charge. ((Hopefully, 14.4 & 13.#ish)) I will load test the battery straight after to make sure it is good. I will reconnect and go for a test drive measuring the voltage across the battery terminals, at a cigarette lighter and across the engine +/- terminals. ((Again hopefully 14.4 ish)) This may help me to figure out what is wrong.

Its only the triangle with the arrow around, idrive till me : destabilization in acceleration and curves drive moderately bla bla bla... After 17.30PM Swedish time i can sent the Picture If u want but its only triangle nothing more its happend when i drove in sunday morning and then comes up. I have big problem with this in BMW dealer says if i can leave the car but i know when i leave the car only check cost me 300-400 USD... Reparation mayby doubble... mayby its not a big deal. yes if you see in the video I have the same thing top left yellow symbol. my ABS is also working fine it's just the module thats gone bad somehow.

Rey Galvan try reading the handbook, it tells you how to reset that function and how long it takes for it to take effect.
