You could do part time proctology after that.

Good job Steve. The coolant system runs so hot on the n62 that the pipes all perish one by one so definitely worth doing all of them at once. I remember finding 4 leaks one after another, should really have done them all. Also the alternator is a good call, though there was a lad in blanch that repaired them and made them like new again. It is one of the worst alternators to remove from a car.

Hi, really enjoy your content. I’ve recently learnt the hard way with these. Those metal hose clips are designed to be installed closed so to speak. How do I know this you might ask. I had one blow off recently that was installed on the twist and didn’t seat properly on a 3 series. So the moral of the story is installed it closed and let it click into place. Great content by the way and lots of lovely fixes 👍👍👍

Very well done Steve. Allow me one question because i am now involved in the 740i game. And of course we leak coolant. Pretty sure mine is on its second factory transfer pipe, so my question. Would you rather install the bimmerfix shown in your video, or would you again start with the collapsable pipe. My intention is: Get rid of the factory pipe first. Yours was good 5 years with that, right? Big greets from Germany.

To be honest I'd always go with the coolant pipe repair, the AGA one might be better quality.

you can also change the thermostat for a colder one like I did on my e53 4.8is. my coolant temp never goes above 93 degrees celsius.

Aye, its on the list. That was probably the time to do it, but its not the worst job now i've done it a few times.

also silicone sealant on valley pan gasket.

is that pipe leaking from this side only?
@glock223572 жыл бұрын
You could have a leak in the valley area where the pipes run in the V of the engine, under the intake manifolds.
@stevesbmwbarn57062 жыл бұрын
The pan and gasket in there are not that old, so hopefully not. Two weeks on and the car is holding coolant like a champ.

All you need to do is smear 3m super weatherstrip on the inside very clean seal/seam inside the coolant pipe seam and let it cure for 24 hours.

This silicon pipe is such an inelegant solution, I am a little disappointed... Hopefully, You won't need to service that ever again!
