Great video. I never would have thought to pull the plastic clip piece out. I managed to finish this upgrade this morning - it was a struggle for sure. I found it easier to have the rubber connectors already installed on the turbo outlet and charge pipe, and then get the FMIC installed onto those once in place.

I just replaced the charge pipe on my 17’ M2 due to a blowout at Sebring last month. My son said I should also upgrade the intercooler. Since I had to remove the old intercooler to replace the charge pipe, I decided to change the intercooler to the VSRF intercooler.

Putting it in took a whole evening, and I had to get my dad to help me with a second pair of hands but it looks so good now

Your videos with this E90 are as good as they were with your E46, but in Europe we have plenty of E9x with the 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 DIESEL. Anyway, as a reference (I'm upgrading my Intercooler from the 330D with the one for the 335D) is very good. 👏

Cobb has a CARB legal intercooler for the 335i its $525 and 8.25 inchs tall in the front. Its only slightly more expensive then the VRSF but it is slightly bigger and CARB legal. Cobb also has a CARB legal charge pipe and ECU tunes.

Great video as always. I started watching you with your e46. Your videos help me rebuild mine. Just rebuilt my motor took it for the 1st test drive yesterday. Just wanted to say thank you for the videos. Also amazon sells a metal valve cover for the m54 now. If you wanted to jump back on the e46 and try something new. It's just like factory.

Woah what. Surprised you did not have to trim the black plastic "fins" in the middle between bumper and intercooler at all. Every time I read or watched vids mention you do and I did myself last time. This time I also have a DCT now though so auto cooler, sucks it doesn't fit and screw back. Good thing I watched this video. Maybe I might just get factory type intercooler upgrade I don't really want more than stock turbos like stage2+.

My e92 335 has been completely shredded apart and every wear part replaced on it completely. FBO status and would be cool to bounce some ideas around with you.

I've got a problem and wondering if you could point me in a direction to solve it. 325i 2004 when I turn on the car let it run a minute or two then shut it off I hear a pressure release of air. it has a pop sound like unhooking a airline. Engine sounds great. no dashboard warnings. Where do I start looking? Anyone ever had this happen. Been searching but nothing comes up so far. Thanks 50 or anyone.

But I cannot figure out how to make the heated seats work. That would be great content! I like the adjustable bolsters and lumbar support of the E90 seats versus the sport seats in the E46.

I found on at my local pick a part and it had the quick disconnects and lady didint know what it was charged me for a oil cooler and it was 30 bucks for a 500 dollar inter cooler

I actually just bought the same FMIC for my E92 N55, and it was missing the washers just like yours did, but also didn't come with any installation manual... I also have the same problem with the transmission oil cooler, which is unaccaptable imho. The VRSF stuff isn't really cheap, and E9X with AT or DCT are not exotic at all, so to me it's baffling how they didn't figure that out, especially since they're selling this IC for quite some time now... Also, VRSF advertises on their website that "it doesn’t require permanent modification in order to be installed", which is simply not true, as can be seen in this video. While installing it, I felt more like I was alpha testing rather than installing an actually finished product... So that being said, I can't recommend it at all, there are much better alternatives out there in the same price region! Seriously thinking about selling it again and getting the Wagner FMIC, as the VRSF one has so far been nothing but a huge disappointment for me.

don't live in commiefornia. so glad, but suck part.. roads don't like lowered cars. . have a VRSF/ARM/Cobb 5" intercooler on my car. tip for the charge pipe to fan shroud, loosen the clamp and pry, the coupler is flexible and your pipe will become more inserted, spacing it away from the fan shroud, and Wala easier shroud removal
