BMW f25 Headlight module Replace and Remove Water

In this episode you will see how I remove the headlights to replace the modules on this BMW f25 X3 for this I have to remove the front bumper , and at the end I will save from drowning one of the rear lights .
The car history is as follows: the car had an accident and was repaired on insurance but from the expertise of the damage to the repair of the car, some time passed and the owner use the car with the headlight broken and water entered to the modules . at the time of the insurance expertise the modules were working so they were not replaced by the insurer....
Related to the aftermarket modules for headlights I had surprises that 2 out of 10 do not work

When removing the outer taillight, if I remember right, you have to push the black plastic piece a couple of millimetres upwards first, then forward or backward 1-2 mm, then it "fall out". The hole is like an "L". Check some picture of the trim piece. It's not very good to break the hooks. There were only two of them, one near the bottom and the other near the top.

Do you know of any fix for the yellowed angel eye on the F25 LCI (after 4/2014 production) models? I keep reading in forums that the module isn't serviceable on the LCI model. Thank you.

i had an annoying plastic rivet on both sides of the bumper in between the 2 screws behind the fender liner and 1 screw inside each of the kidney grills.

Salut Ovidiu!Am schimbat farurile si folosesc tms-urile de la farurile vechi care pt trafic de stanga(UK)farurile noi sunt TYC productie pt trafic de dreapta totul e ok in afara de vertical aim control,eroarea e :"Headlight vertical aim control failure"si apare numai cand rotesc butonul de la zero la doi,dupa cateva miscari sus jos apare eroarea si lumina nu se misca.

all i did was remove the one i needed to remove(driverside headlight),make some room, through the bottom of the car,under the fender (on whatever side youre working on),reach through the botton,you will be able to fit a rachet and undo the bottom bolts of the headlight, bolts of the headlight,i used an carboard box to make spacers to make room to pull the headlight out and put in the replacement.

I have done the following to my F25 2011. My right Xenon non-adaptive headligth glass broke and used the housing of an adaptive. I transfered the Driver module, Control unit and the two led modules from the non-adaptive. Everything works except the angel eyes and 800F89 error code appears. Is the wiring the problem? Is there any scematic that spots the differences between non-adaptive and adaptive xenon?

Have you heard of an issue with BMW X3 where the turn signals and cruise control malfunction until the car has warmed up? Currently experiencing this problem and I’m puzzled to say the least.

I have adaptive headlight failure, do you need to replace both modules, or can you get away with just one? I guessing its the one that the headlight failed. Is that not a good way to handle it?

28:56 for this I used silicone around whole lamp, like kitchen/bathroom silicone :D In the lamp there is really nice "row" to put silicone in there, fits perfectly, no problem till now

Sal! Am același model f25, și am ceva probleme cu senzorul de parcare mijloc stânga , in sensul ca funcționează pentru o perioada scurta când îl ud in zona lui iar după numai. Ce îmi recomanzi sa fac și dacă trebuie data bara jos pentru a vedea ce se întâmpla acolo sau a-și putea sa dau jos doar acea fusta? Multumesc frumos!!!

I don't know at all BUT LET ME GUESS... I'm afraid you also have to reach the two screws behind the wheel arch.

That engine bay is more than a little dirty 😬 I would expect people to have a little more respect for you and your work and clean the car before you work on it. I wash my car and clean the engine before any service so the technician can see I take care of my car and expect the same from them, as well as showing some respect for their work. But maybe that’s just me 🤷🏻 All the same, great video as always! Take care and God bless!

Hello, by thinking or guessing won't repair nothing and will waste your time, you need to make a proper diagnose and see exactly the problem , and of course if you will replace the control unit will need to be coded

No , no need to program if replace only the lens cover

Hey, thanks for the video, I just got back from BMW service, right turn signal and angel eye are not working, they said it's most likely headlight module problem and to fix it it will cost $1100 or more. From what I see I can order it online, just have to remove it first to make sure I order right version and init it with my computer. Already downloading Ista and I have ODB cable, will check later if I can connect to vehicle, if I can than probably I will try removing module and will order the same from ebay. Hope that works. Once again thanks, video is very helpful.

If the headlight have water you need to check the wiring and the led's because it is a big chance to be destroyed if you have used the car a long time with water in the headlight

@@MOvidiu In my case I have no water. On my prev appointment at bmw service they read fault code: "0x805B LHM2_R: Fault classification Resistor LED 1 R" but light worked fine. On next appointment when replaced steering rack they had to code it and somehow it disabled my turn signal. They tried to init my light again but couldn't because of that 0x805B failure, so they say I have to replace headlamp module.

Hi, my daylight isn't working on my F36 2015 model. I have ordered the replacement module for the daylight. Will I need to code it ? Or just straight swap will do ? Thanks in advance

if you replace the led module no need code, if you replace the control unit then need initialisation

Was the low beam faulty or was it the adaptive leveling? ,my low beam is not working and im getting a adaptive headlight fault.

The low beam is not controlled by the TMS module , you need to check the bulb and xenon igniter

@@MOvidiu i did try the bulb but it wouldn’t work , so i bought the control unit. But taking the front of the car apart like you did is quite a project. What were the parts you changed in the headlight for , i didnt see what was wrong with the headlights. Thank you,

Te salut ești de mare ajutor. Am avut căzut capacul acela rotund de protecție și nu mai funcționează xenonul l-am înlocuit dar tot nu funcționează nu știu exact care piesă trebuie schimbată poate poți să mă ajuți cu un sfat să nu le cumpăr aiurea că aici în München pe acel modul(schteuergerä)mi-o cerut 466€.fără manoperă Mie nu-mi funcționează faza scurtă .mulțumesc pentru filmuleț

Salut. eu iti recomand sa inlocuiesti farul cu unul nou , dar daca doresti sa il repari te sfatuiesc sa apelezi la un service specializat, pentru diagnosticare si reparatie , asa cu presupusul nu o sa rezolvi nimic , si posibil sa te coste mai mult la final!

Salut , sa iti zic direct ai nevoie de un far nou , acolo sa topit dispersorul din cauza ledului si deaia se vede galben , piesa aia se inlocuieste dar nu se gaseste separat sa cumperi nou (face parte din far ) ! poti gasi doar din alt far de piese !

Grease or oil will destroy the rubber. It's better to use a silicone base grease.
