Changing your own oil and air filter are two of the simplest forms of maintenance that everyone with a non-electric car needs to do. It will save you money ,the headache of coordinating with a shop, and maybe even provide a minor sense of accomplishment!

Do you have a extended warranty? I get told that you do not drive BMW out of warranty. F30 is not an M5 or X5 so maintenance should be less I guess

I had the extended warranty, but never had to use it. The car has 80k miles now, and no real issues.
