you're 100% right, ill try to add a little bit of nuance as to why we live in a "throw away society". most people lack these body repair skills/tools to repair to this level of quality, the biggest factor is time, is it economically cheaper to repair a part with the investment of time to repair and paint? when you can get a part off another vehicle it might cost $100 but in most countries people with this level of skill would charge that amount per hour. not to mention most 1st world countries have road worthy laws, write offs etc, its another layer of red tape making people more hesitant to restore cars like this. even though this car looks and is most likely 99.5% the same strength that it was before the crash, it will never have the same physical structure as it had before the crash and could lead to deaths as an impact from the same direction could have altered the cars crumple zones, that's the legal justification why certain countries have write off laws. but i do enjoy watching this level of mastery, and I'm all for right to repair, more freedom, less red tape.

@@user-hc8mv3xs4v cars are designed with crumple zones, metal fatigue weakens the metal reducing the effectiveness of the crumple zones in a secondary impact. I'm not an engineer or a politician, the laws in my country are written based on these professional opinion. I'm allowed to think that my government is silly for making such laws, but it is what it is for their reasons.
