I was wondering how you would approach it. I've done a few and thought it would drop out but nope. I loosen the subframe bolts just for an inch of play , take out the left side mount, remove the top nut from the right side and Boom

The transmission is conected directly to the engine always ... the front diff is between the transfer case and wheels. the path is this... Engine-gearbox-transfer case-differential-wheels on a Xdrive .
