BMW F30 Steering Wheel Cruise Control Button Replacement

The little button you use to set the cruise control speed got pretty worn out. I've ordered replacement one on Aliexpress.
Getting the airbag out was a real struggle!

Great video. This gave me the confidence to do my 2016 X3. They wanted to change whole button cluster £300 + labour! I found a replacement button for £20 and it took me 90mins to fit as my steering wheel was slightly different to yours.

So hey, I see you’ve put F10 buttons on F30. Do those buttons work properly since the replacement? Thanks in advance.

Yes, they fit perfectly and work just like the original ones.

Did you only disconnect the Negative terminal before working? Or do you need to disconnect + and - ? cheers great vid.

Yes. Disconnecting one terminal is enough.

Hey i bought a custom f30 steering wheel. I need to re use my trim/buttons/airbag on the new steering wheel. Just remove & replace. Will your steps work?

Just search for "f30 steering wheel buttons". If you find F10 buttons, they should work too! (the ones I ordered were for F10)

Hi, great job. 👍 I did same just on F10 model Only bad point is is now very stiff button, and doesn't comeback to neutral position. Did you have the same problem after replacement? I recon because its chine button not exactly same size as oem

Nope, works just like the original one. No sticking or getting stuck.

You need Torex 20 (T-20) for 3 screws that holds frame around airbag. Tricky to access them as you need correct angle. Cannot use extensions as holes are very narrow and deep.

Hello, can you please confirm that the button you ordered from Aliexpress has that thick rubber coating on the outside, like the original one? Or is just a plastic button that has a similar look to rubber. Thanks!

Nope, doesn't have rubber. It's just a plastic button.
