I've had mine a month, stepping up from a CB500X which itself is no lightweight and a little top heavy. What strikes me about the BMW 750 is that it seems a lot heavier than the Honda especially moving it around on foot, and as you say when you stop on uneven ground it doesn't take much to tip it a few degrees and have to drop it. At the dealership last week whilst waiting I sat on a 1250 GSA which was a lowered version. It's a little heavier and size wise there's not much difference. However, because the weight is so low down with the boxer engine, it was sooo easy to move about and lean over whilst astride it without any fear of dropping it. I'm beginning to realise that maybe I should have researched it more and tried the 1250 out before ruling it out as too big. To me it seemed more nimble and controllable. However, I've become very attached to my 750 and I love it so I'm going to stick with it for a good while yet I think. Do you think you will keep yours?

Hello Pauly, thanks for the comments. That's interesting observations about the 1250GS and in line with what some others said and answers received from elsewhere For me the GSA is too big. Recently one guy on a 1250GSA stopped by and his bike seemed to dwarf mine. The 750GS is quite heavier than the CB500x - by almost 30 kg. The 1250 has a lot more power, so I can only imagine one needs to be careful with the throttle, plus insurance is noticeably more (at least here), so perhaps getting the 750 wasn't so "bad". Will I keep mine? If there would be something to trade it in for, I would. I recently talked to "my" BMW dealer (with the intention of going for the 1250GS), but the trade in value of my bike would be so low it wouldn't make sense. I also wouldn't mind going the other way and going for something much lighter, even at the expense of a smallish engine, but there is nothing suitable at this moment.

@@BlueAlgon Yes what you said makes sense. At the end of the day the 1250 is a big lump of a thing and unnecessary for 99% of my needs. I love smaller bikes, and I've decided to keep my CB500x for that reason. Whilst it seems to be a similar bike to the 750GS, they both have individual qualities that I love so I'm keeping both! In fact the cb500x is a bit big and I've not ruled out something really light like a 300 in the future. I've decided to definitely not go bigger!

I’m 5.4 with 28” inseam. I love my 750. Changed the seat to a lower one than stock. Yes it’s a heavy bike but nothing I can’t handle. Maybe cause I’m strong for my size. Suggest some light exercise every day and you will feel more comfortable handling it.

Lol the carrots in your luggage had me rolling. I want the F850 GS but seeing how have these "mid size" bikes are I should stick with the sub 400cc bikes.

Hi Scotty, thanks for your comments. Had a look at your Joshua Tree video. Very nice. Hey, unless you are as an expert rider I would recommend forgetting about the 850GS for roads like that. In that video you dropped the 310GS a few times; lifting it repeatedly must be enough of an exercise. Now add 110 lbs or more to it... From my perspective I cannot see any advantage of the 850 under those circumstances over the 310, except for the luggage carrying capacity - the 850 can take a lot of stuff. The 310 seems to be quite limited. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind having the 310 - the power is enough for me, but for my road trips it cannot take much stuff (as far as I'm aware). Cheers.

Nice review. Agree on almost everything! I have TFT with all the modes tho so it is hard to compare with your bike. I am still afraid to ride in Dynamic mode which i find way powerful for my riding knowledge. Rear brake pedal which i found very useless in boots and had way too much dead angle. I changed mine for BMW enduro pedal at BMW dealer and they also managed to fix rear pedals dead angle. I am like super happy now :) Just a tap with a foot and you get rear braking power which you can still regulate by pressure.

Hi Martin. Thanks for the comments. I just bought a brake pedal accessory from Altrider.com. It effectively raises the pedal. It should work quite well. It's not installed, yet. After winter....
