BMW FRONT DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS

My BMW was making a “grinding noise” I thought it was the wheel bearing or brakes. We diagnosed it to be the Front differential.

Hello, did you not have any problem to get your car up to speed while on air? My 320D xdrive cuts power like crazy when i try to drive it on air even when the DTC is off, i hardly can get it to go 40-50kmh? Did you do something else to make the xdrive system more happy while cruising in the air air? I am currently trying to diagnose if my front diff is also bad... :S

I didnt do anything with the xdrive …it may be your gears in side the xdrive are worn out

After my diff was rebuilt everything seemed fine but there is a squeaking noise when turning full lock at very low speeds. The mechanic said it’s normal but I’m not sure. Any advice??

I've got the same thing with my 340i xdrive now it will be fixed under warranty thank god. i recognise the same sound you have. Mine is also completely screwed. maybe they have to do the rear diff aswell.. have to wait for two-three more weeks till i get my car back i can't wait..

I couldn't comment on your last video because the comments are disabled. I have a question, recently someone forced to open the fuel lid and put salt in the gas tank. How can I go about it? I’m not sure if the salt actually went all the way in or just around it. They also broke the Clip fuel lid, the black plastic piece 😔 I have a Honda Accord 2021 (black) sport.. Any feed back and guidance is welcome thank you. I am in Los Angeles

@@BimmaJoc how do I go about that? Just go to the dealer or do a claim with my insurance.. wouldn’t the insurance determine if the car is a “total loss”?

@@Monce08 oh ok its a lease then u good …if you have body damage then yes claim ya insurance…forget about the salt claim tho

I got luck and found the differential on EBAY …some others i used ECStuning

How much did you end up paying total? Probably more than the cars worth today right? Assuming it wasn't broken or fixed at all just normally that car would be less than the repairs right lol

I only paid 2400 because i did many other things then the diff like then oil pan gasket ...control arms ...enginemounts....and no i didnt buy a new front diff i bought it used for like 200 bucks ....so i saved my self massives amount of money.....and ya right the dealer would have charged me more then the cars worth if i went that route 😅

@@BimmaJoc wow. It's cheap to work on bmws there then. I paid 1800 to do the cover system in my e39 528i in las vegas. And that's more simple than replacing a front driveshaft. Motor mounts oil pan etc etc. They really overcharging us out here apparently. That was with a independentbmw shop to.

@@Bmanfresh its not cheap ..i just got lucky one time...the dealer prices would have been way more
